They aren't terrible losses in the grand scheme of things, but especially coming off of a pretty impressive road trip, you'd like to see them start winning more of these coin flips.

3 runs in regulation wins yesterday, and 1 in regulation wins today. Just 1 hit with RISP could have flipped either game.

So many complaints about the pitching, but they handed the offense a sweepable series. Lack of execution at the plate and it's two losses in extras instead.

It's that weird bad timing stat coming into play again. When the pitching staff does well the hitters suck and when the hitters do well the pitching sucks.

That's been problematic at home. It's just a disappointing series to come home and lay a bunch of goose eggs in front of a combined 60K people the last 2 days coming off an encouraging road trip.

  • Yeah it is what it is, the White Sox are trotting out pretty putrid offenses over the past couple years and if you have anything short of a fantastic reliever you're going to see a lot of painful outi

  • Just dfa him and bring up Kelenic.

He's a bit depressed since he got whacked the bad way.

Did you see his terrible AB in the ninth? Oh yeah and Acuña can go fly a kite too. Dude sucks and tries to be a hotdog

Where does the hotdog stuff come from ? I keep seeing it.

Is it because he catches flyballs leaning to his left and it looks a bit different ? I havent seen anything overtly hotdoggish.

Well I hope he actually got that $1.2 million to cushion the blow a bit.

He's catching fly balls off to the left of his chest instead of lining up underneath it in front of his face. I've heard it commented (probably by Beckham) that being an infielder, that's now he sees the ball the best, angling his face some and catching the ball chest high. He seems fine in the field. A couple of mis-reads, needing to take charge and call off other fielders, but beyond that, he seems solid with the glove.

I agree with whoever said in the last couple of days, here, that Acuña's still probably trying to make the things work they've changed in his approach. His strikeout rate actually isn't bad. He just either hits everything on the ground, or right at somebody in the OF.

How many solid line drives has he hit all season?

Right that was my point .I mean if you want to hate on the guy and do the whole Queen of Hearts thing or your best Dennis Green impersonation because he's not producing ok fine, not my style ,but whatever but is it really that lean that people find offensive or have we missed something ? That's some ticky tacky 1970's old school reason to call someone a hotdog.

Piersall would have lost his mind watching Acuna play center.

You mean the guy who ran around the bases backwards for his 100th career HR ?

Piersall sounded like a few guys here always talking about he was critical because he had higher standards. He didnt like 1 handed catches of fly balls. He was fired for being too critical of players by the Sox in the booth and for the same reason coaching the Cubs.

His higher standards included being ejected from a game in 1960 for running around in the OF waving his arms trying to distract Ted Williams. And that was Williams last season as a player.

I was at the game. The crowd was into the game just waiting for something good to happen. It was a disappointing loss. I can't remember a White Sox outfield as bad as the one put out today. Isn't there anybody in the minors that they can bring up who is an outfielder who can hit? I realize Getz doesn't like to admit his mistakes. But this Acuna doesn't look like he could hit me. I've felt from the start of this season that management isn't that concerned if the team wins or loses. I don't think I'm wrong. Maybe this offense will pickup when Teel and Hays come back.

I know today was all backups, but...

2018, Nicky Delmonico - LF (-0.8 bWAR), Adam Engel - CF (1.2), Avasail Garcia - RF (0.6)

Antonacci and Pereira could both end up close to 1.5-2.0 bWAR. That's not great, but it's not "the worst OF in history". If Acuña starts hitting, he'll be there, too.

Delmonico could actually hit and was popular with the ladies lol.

"Not the very worst outfield in 125 years of Sox history" should be forwarded to Boyer.

Better even than the Guardians' "third best record in baseball since 2014 but no titles."

Not counting on anything over 1 fWAR until actually achieved.

Acuna has been the second worst defensive CF'er in baseball so far. This idea that he just has taken a few bad routes is nonsense. He's been dreadful with his arm and his routes, and I was very high on him defensively. I was simply wrong and he's no where near a viable defensive CF'er.

That is a new personal favorite. Yeah, he played a great CF, but he was a real uggo.

Kirk mcCaskill and Jon garland come on down

Give away Steve Stone autographed Playgirl covers

Sex sells both ways, lol

extra bonuses for LHH sweet swingers

Points off for Urlacher/Vaughn receding patterns or gray hair

Stearns was right about something at least.

The Sox are in their Switch Hitter era how. Gotta sell it both ways.

Even as a kid I noticed that his standards seemed to vary based on skin color. He was constantly on Chet Lemon for being a "hot dog" and Lemon was a damn good CF. May be related to the time period he played for Boston.

he doesn't have it from transitioning from SS to CF at the big league level. So he has to be DFA'd to be sent down. I guess this is the type of player you would "getz" at the trade deadline.

Tommy pham’s again available. Schriff would simply jizz over that.

Probably 50% of the reason he wouldn’t consider a return.

Reese is gone, he couldn't find his stroke. Lets cut it out with the masturbation jokes.

I make no promises.

Your overt reluctance in not embracing the game thread duties yesterday was a primary factor in the loss.

Since we can't blame Getz or JR...someone has to be the scapegoat.

Sorry!
