Tuesday at 01:22 PM2 days I believe the Sox are headed towards becoming a solid contending team. In the meantime, I can't get enough of their youth and competitiveness, what a sheer joy to watch. I will be patient with the development and not expect instant results from all the players experiencing MLB for the first time. I heard Ben Peoples mentioned as a call up on either Future Sox or Locked on White Sox. Let's get him up here and see if he can stabilize a position in the pen.
Tuesday at 03:19 PM1 day White Sox have the second best WC record by 1/2 game. But Cleveland added 1/2 game to their Central lead against the woeful Angels at home.

I wonder if the Sox might sell high on him to get more pitching, as we need to convert surplus assets at blocked positions to address needs.

Other than the Yankees I'm not there's a 90+ win team in the AL. The rays are hot but they aren't going to sustain that pitching all season. Opponents have a .249 BABIP against them entering today, easily best in the league. Their FIP and xFIP and xERA suggest a half run a game regression before season is over.
Yesterday at 03:03 AM1 day After a few come from behind wins I am a believer. This team is never out of it. The last few years did we ever score 5 runs in an inning? The key for me lately is antonacci. He sets the tone and plays a real good LF.

The dream scenario is that he gains one or two MPH on his fastball after the surgery. I'm not too high on him but if he can become a #3 pitcher, that would be a win at this point.Honestly Sox would be lucky to get a few decent relief pitchers out of the whole group that had TJ. This really isn't the year to look for any positive results from them. Next year should be a good litmus test. They have to build back up and work out the rust and kinks.. That'll mostly be done in the minors and unfortunately Charlotte is not an ideal place for that.

The past few years, there wasn't much fun to watch. This team is fun and much better than expected. Sure, they're in a shitty division and realistically wouldn't be within striking distance of first place in any other division, but being in the hunt makes it even more fun.

Sure, they're in a shitty division and realistically wouldn't be within striking distance of first place in any other division, but being in the hunt makes it even more fun.And our level of fun comes with a bunch of prospects doing well which includes winning and hitting bombs. But in my case it came with watching the kids come up and perform well which was as they started to trickle in, in 2025 and some of the pitchers like Martin and Burke late in 2024 .I also advocated getting Murakami in the off season thread about if you could sign 1 Free Agent. But I figured it wouldnt actually happen because of the projected price tag at the time which was well over $100M from quite a few places. And why wouldn't he get that amount when you look at what he had accomplished at such a young age. He had to be a special bat. But the industry spread the fear of the K with him which goes to show that many many scouts and data analysts can make mistakes on high level talent. No knock on them, it's baseball after all, where, if physical talent is No. 1 then the ability to evolve is No. 1A and having a good eye for the strike zone is 1B. He was the main reason my preseason win total was probably higher than 85% of fans. I envisioned somewhere betwern 70 and 80 HRs between Mune and Colson and those numbers are in my past posts. Still a long way to go before that happens. Injuries always play a part in how things turn out. After all , the trade of Robert upset people who were still stuck on his upside even after all his injuries and especially after his good start . But that soon started to fade and no telling how long his latest injury will keep him out. I was thrilled they could dump his whole salary and get a prospect and used that $20M to sign multiple players. The baby steps of adding talent to boost winning in a rebuild is a fine line of balancing the evolution of youth which also involves some effort at winning so the stench of losing doesnt get too deeply ingrained in them so upgrading the back of the BP with Dominquez to perhaps win a few more late inning games rather then demoralizing late innings losses is important. It's also why I liked the 2 Southern League championions. It was breeding a winning culture at a level high enough to mean something eventually to the big league team and the attitudes of the young players involved. Confidence has to be built along with teaching winning traits like team work, fundamentals and comaraderie. These things might seem like old fashioned and outdated concepts but while winning they seem like a very likable, modest, hard working bunch who genuinely like each other. You see our fans mention those attributes time and time again and say the players from the old rebuild seemed to lack that, even though it might has existed during the Rickey's Boys Don't Quit Phase of that rebuild which was quickly snuffed out by injuries, front office blunders and chaos in general. People here may have hated the Getz hiring but there's no doubt he's built something even while having almost no money to work with. I have no idea how far it can go or how long it will last with JR still driving the boat. Im afraid it could fizzle before Ishbia has a chance to make a difference. So I'll just enjoy it for the time being for what it is, a fun transition period that is on the way up but may get interupted if JR's reign lasts longer than than most of us hope it will.

20 hours ago20 hr Pecota projects Sox for 73 wins as of this morning. Not a data point I really personally look at much anymore but I think we can safely say this isn't a 100 loss team and might not even be a 90 loss team.

We' d have to let people know how many games are in each time frame since its not an equal split of the season. All previous predictions would be wiped clean in the preseason thread will be figuratively expunged . Or you can stick to any previous predictions. It's to get a bit carried away and the 2nd half record will mainly depend on a lot of current unknowns such as who gets traded at the deadline which corresponds to where the Sox will be in the division when to TDL rolls around.

4 hours ago4 hr I think I officially started believing last night when I watched the Sox game over an NBA playoff game, although the Sox game ended in time for me to watch the 4th quarter. I should state that my career is in basketball and am an avid NBA fan so I surprised myself.
