May 14May 14 I started to believe in the second half last year and thought they had a nucleus of good young players who were gamers. When this season started off so bad I thought how could I have been so wrong but it looks after all that maybe I was right, there is still a long way to go and there are going to be some bumps, a true test will be on how well they handle the bumps. With Teel and Hays coming back soon, things can really get interesting.
May 14May 14 I think its about time I give CHSN my moneys. I've followed the box scores daily and as a driver im constantly tuned into 670/1000 so I'm still "Up to date," but I haven't physically watched a game since going to a July game last year. Between the sox being so bad, and me becoming a borderline degenerate gambler who hasn't yet jumped into gambling on baseball, the Sox have become a visual afterthought. I wonder at what point does the organization start to believe?! If this team keeps playing like this do they look to BUY at the deadline????? Or are Teel and Montgomery their additions to this team? Would you trade Antanocci to a team looking for infield help for a more proven outfielder?? Do guys like Gonzalez(I think thats the AAA infielder doing well) or Billy Carlson have enough value to other teams to bring in a legit OF/DH?

May 14May 14 Sox are in a 3 way tie for 10th with 5.3 position player fWAR. 11th in wrC+ at 102. Defense continues to play well, now -6 RAA as a team good enough for 15th. Pitching fWAR is 17th at 3.4.

Have to wait and see on him.Jacob Gonzalez numbers are meaningless unless repeated at the mlb level for over 100 at bats to start out with.Someone'sc willing to give you a veteran experienced 4/5 starter to last the remainder of the season, go for it...needs to be a something above Fedde and Kay level though. No easy task. Might require a package of 2-3 "suspects" bundled together. Edited May 14May 14 by caulfield12

But I don't want to do that either and just keep both.

May 14May 14 I'm as excited as anyone that we're playing better than expected in mid-May...but we're playing better than expected in mid-May. There's a long way to go. It's certainly not time to be trading away prospects. Let's just keep hoping our major league club remains watchable and that our prospects continue to develop. That's exactly what I hoped for out of this season.
May 14May 14 Chicago White Sox: The White Sox? You mean the team that’s lost 100-plus games three years in a row? That’s exactly right. The South Siders are on the rise, and even if they’re unable to continue hovering around .500 all summer long, they’re immensely more watchable than the dysfunctional teams of the past few years. A young hitting core headlined by Munetaka Murakami, Miguel Vargas, Colson Montgomery and Chase Meidroth looks to be the foundation of the next White Sox playoff team.SISports IllustratedSports Illustrated, SI.com provides sports news, expert analysis, highlights, stats and scores for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college football, soccer, fantasy, gambling and more3rd mlb tier of watchabilitySIMLB Standings: Don't Look Now but the White Sox Are Playi...After losing a combined 326 games over the past three seasons, there is life on Chicago's South Side. Even if they are still hovering around a WC spot in July I don't want them to be buyers because that means you're taking assets away from what you've been trying to build the last 3 years. Let these guys play and continue to keep progressing forward but stay the course. We want this team to be competitive for years, not just this year.
Monday at 12:09 AM4 days I think I’ve officially joined the believer crowd as I looked up game tines this week so I could watch the games.

You do nothing but b**** about anything and everything, dragging your hurt feeling into every thread like some badge of honor, when you should be embarrassed for acting like a toddler perpetually. Even after years of being ignored, you still are so fragile, that you need to go after anyone and everyone who disagrees with you, AFTER YEARS. Project your insecurities onto someone else.Lol youre a riot. Enjoy your time as Soxtalk Eunuch or gelding.

They need to help this group out.

The minor league affiliates of the other MLB teams are doing better. I'd really like to see the Sox improve the system, as we'll need it in future years.

Is there a correlation between minor league team records and major league team record? It would make sense if there was but I don’t that would be an absolute. I’ve never really thought about it too deeply.

Monday at 02:11 PM3 days The White Sox went 4-2 against the Padres and the Cubs. Two teams who are suppose to be two of the better teams in the NL. In a few weeks the White Sox play 9 games in a row against the Braves, Dodgers and Yankees. It should be a interesting 9 games.

And caulfield, you also raise a good point. I don't mean to overstate my comment about placement in minor league races. However, I do like to follow the players in the minor leagues, and I'm excited by the ones that are improving and doing well. (The minors offered some hope and progress during the past 3 years.) The various minor league player rankings are probably better for evaluating our players vs those of other teams, but I am envious of teams like the Rays who seem to have minor league teams that do well.
Monday at 03:08 PM3 days Seems like we should be able to hover around .500, which should be enough to keep things interesting.
Monday at 04:18 PM3 days Sox are now 7th in wRC+ at 107 and 6th in position player war at 7. 17th in pitching fWAR at 3.8. As I posted in the post gamer if you look at just May the Sox are easily the best offense in MLB. We have an xwOBA in May of .371! Next closest is the Cubs at .342. The delta between the Sox and Cubs at 2nd is equal to the delta between the Cubs and 16th place Arizona at .313.Incredible.Also, for anybody worried about Colson's back he looked pretty good picking up and throwing the gatorade cooler post game...
