Colson Montgomery hit career HR #35 today, in career game 128. Fastest to 35 in Sox history, beating Abreu by 5 games.

  • The only Sox to hit more HR in ANY 140 game span are Thome (42 from 4/2/2006-9/25/2006) and Quentin (41 from 4/3/2008-4/17/2009)

Would have probably been three if not for Murakami’s injury.

Mune was on pace to hit 40 in ~120 games, so he could theoretically challenge for this record if he returns in good form

If Colson played for the Yankees, he'd probably hit 100 homeruns in a season. He seemed to barely hit those balls last night that ended up being homeruns. That short porch is ridiculous.

First team in the majors to have 2 20+ HR hitters, and one of them hasn't played in a couple weeks.

Colson is also the first shortstop to the 20 HR mark, the next closest is at 15 (Neto, Henderson)

It’s sacrilegious but when he was rounding the bases on his second long ball, I thought to myself, “Bet he signs as a free agent with New York.”

There are two teams in the MLB that make me want to puke… The Yankmes and the Asshoes.

🤮

I was thinking the same thing after Colson's 2 HR game. Colson isn't going anywhere soon and down the road Ishbia will have a say in the matter.

I get the concern, but I'm more worried about potential back issues with him in the coming years than that. It looks like he won't be a free agent until 2032. So yeah, on the bright side we'll likely be in the Ishbia era by then.

If everything works out, he could very well be around to hit HRs for the Sox into the Chicago River at Shore Capital Field. 😜🤪🙃

That's a pretty incredible group. Lets hope he's closer to Alonso or Kurtz than Sanchez career wise.

Boy it sure will be refreshing to actually think we can retain and attract superstars. Good call.
