Literally nobody has ever said it's an important stat that has any sense at all. It's a fluke. A team has never been able to consistently outperform their talent in 1 run games outside a one season sa

I've been told this is a really important stat. Nobody refers to it this year. I'm not sure why.

Feels like a big series, hope we can at least take 2 of 3.

Literally nobody has ever said it's an important stat that has any sense at all. It's a fluke. A team has never been able to consistently outperform their talent in 1 run games outside a one season sample. I don't mind you as much as others here but you consistently post some of the strangest "gotchas". Like who are you digging at here? Can you not just enjoy the improved team as much you seemingly do without trying to constantly instigate off nonsense?

And it is such a weird flex. A historically awful team was historically awful in 1 run games. Now they they are .500, guess what their record in 1 run games is? Would you believe it is essentially .500? It's almost as if not having one of the worst bullpens in the history of MLB make a team better. Weird right?

But again, we get trolled for no good reason other than old grudges. They literally can't enjoy it, while telling everyone else to enjoy it.

Wow. Every loss in the last couple of years would get a running tally of records in 1 run losses, number of games lost with a lead after 7 innings, etc. Weird how people get angry over the opposite, people being happy that those trends are reversed.

I thought this was a White Sox board. Weird how being happy about the team this board is about feels like trolling to some. LOL.

Sure. "being happy" is going back to every argument you lost over the last few years.

Stop trolling.

Anyone know the rain situation?

I don't think anybody said directly it is an important stat (I even tried searching but didn't find anything), but being that it was posted each time, with an updated counter, I can see how WE would believe those posters thought it was important.

The 1 run record/7th inning blown games in 2024 was just another indictment of how bad that team was, so I don't see the big deal in posting it. Same thing we were/are doing with shutouts, we even have memes for it.

Also, to give Lip credit he has been posting a counter of the POSITIVE side of this too this year.

Not trying to fence sit I just think this is an unnecessary argument. Way bigger fish to fry. Lets get another series win and keep the momentum going into the Cubs!

Kevin Roth

YELLOW/ORANGE - A few showers around pregame, those should clear without much concern. There's another batch of storms that look to fire up after that, which could cause an issue. I'm starting this at YELLOW/ORANGE, which if you are new here is my default for "it's gonna rain, but I don't really know what they plan to do about it". Best guess is that there's some sort of delay but they manage to play ball, but I'll try to add more details as we get closer to first pitch. Winds are ripping at 20mph, a bit out to left, a bit right to left.

Yep, I remember Lip mainly reporting the updated stats on 1-run losses. Most of us were just waiting for Beavis to appear because the Sox awful offense was shut out so many times. 🤣

I'm like 95% sure it was Caulfield mostly. Which I'll say definitely matters to this discussion lol

Sir Anthony does not have Closer stuff. On Sunday he got the save after coming in the 9th (after a hard fought rally to get a one run lead) and then loaded the bases with one out. As I suggested before, maybe try Bryan Hudson, our best bullpen arm to Close. The guy has been dealing.

Nah. It's a Lip thing.

The dream is that enough of these guys produce and Braden comes up and it just pushes him off the roster entirely. I can't see him being traded in the summer and likely not in the off-season so might as well move on when guys start coming back and are promoted.

Really sad we can't just eat the contract at this point. How they didn't have a buyout for next year is so bad. Thanks Hahn.

I've been posting both blown leads after seven and come from behind win when trailing after seven for the last several years even during the first rebuild when they were having some success.

Just trying to be fair.
