Colson Montgomery, who happens to be a near GG SS, has a .298 career ISO. Wut?

His rate numbers are really close to what they were last year, except I think he's getting hit by pitch quite a bit more. That's giving him a 20 point boost on OBP. But through 115 games and 470 PAs he has 34 homers and 4.7 fWAR.

And if they can add a halfway decent righthanded DH. That shouldn't be a difficult or pricey piece to find at the deadline.

It's just funny that we were dying for a good left handed hitter back in the previous competitive window and now we have too many.

Jerry cannot break up this core. if it happens, the fans and the media would never forget it, I would consider it negligence on par with the white flag

Sometimes you just have to make trades to fill holes. But I love these guys too.

Sox 5-0 when Martin pitches after a loss.

1st multi HR game for MLB Mune. AL HR leader.

OPS

Ant - .804

Colson .864

Mune .943

Varga .879

Day game rubber match tomorrow.

Davis Martin is what they used to call a stopper.

Martin isn't a free agent until 2031. If the improvements are real, then we have ourselves a top of the rotation starter under cheap control for 5 years. Talk about luck.

Do we have one of the best 2-3-4 in baseball? Have to be leading in home runs. It feels like every game one of them homers

Great win, the one thing I feared isn’t going to happen and that was the Cubs sweeping us in our ballpark, now let’s win the series.

I agree, these kids are not only good ballplayers and love playing the game but it seems like there are no jerks on the team. Of course the guy who owns the team is a complete jerk but even he can see he should do everything he can to keep the core intact.

This is the piece that died off when TLR took over in 2021.

So many bad moves by JR in his 45 years at Sox owner but bringing on TLR might be the worst.

Me too. He seems to be growing into my favorite

Meanwhile we still have five years of control with Martin due to his injury history.

They have more home runs than the Red Sox do as a team.

Definitely think this is more sustainable then white Sox teams of past. Getz and co have finally found the two left handed sluggers that this team has lacked for nearly ten years.

Also, this team's walk numbers are insane. Both Vargas and Murakami are in the top 10 in the AL for walks. This is absolutely contributing to the power numbers. And it's why I think this is actually sustainable. Gone are the days of the free swinging white Sox.

I do think people forget the vibes Renteria's teams had. Made it so annoying that "Ricky's boys don't quit" got co-opted by the TLR era.

I can't find it, but I'll always remember this one delightfully stupid clip of the entire dugout getting a beat started for Ryan Cordell to just drop it like it's hot. Then there was Moncada Day outfits or Madrigal's Mr. 3000 shirts. They liked each other.

Mune is 100% a more extroverted leader than Pito (though both lead by example / production), but there's no other All-Star level vets (like Grandal, Keuchel, Lynn) to disrupt the club house.

Nearly a 7 WAR pace over his first full season. Insanity.

And everything I've seen from Benintendi (not that he is all star level) makes him seem like a pretty chill dude.

Romo has been a beast though.

Give Jacob Gonzalez a shot. He's raking in Charlotte.

Davis Martin's record is 6-1 and is the 1st Sox pitcher to win 6 of his 1st 9 starts in a season since Lance Lynn in 2021.

Steak and Potatoes...he Graveman and Joe Kelly drove the pitching staff into the ground with their selfishness/me first attitudes.

Keuchel, too.
