The Sox had ZERO BUSINESS winning that game and the Mariners had ZERO BUSINESS losing it. One of those games that can flip a season come October. I'll have more later, still on cloud 9. I got home from the park in 10 minutes on a $2.50 scooter ride too. Gotta love modern convenience.

Way to keep grinding and finding a way to win!!!

Man, been trying to drink less and been enjoying the clarity but man I'm manic AF right now. It was a good crowd tonight. I guess 28K prior to looking and official was 28.8K. The younger bros took over 4 entire sections in the RF upper deck for a couple innings before dwindling down to only a couple late. A lot of younger people in the crowd in general. I had great fans next to me, a mariners guy solo scoring the game, some older mariners fans and a few sox fans.

I moved up into the standing section in the 100 level for the last 6 outs (hedge those bets, it's a school night bros), was the change of scenery that coincided with the come back and Taylor just shutting them down. They had nothing on Taylor. Demoralizing ass loss for them and a great win for us.

Also, before I forget, who is the try hard dipshit looking dude that is our official "ball boy"? He's like late 20s or so and he acts like a player. I've seen him two years in a row now. Just a really odd presentation. Almost like a make a wish type gig for him.

Also, Colson tonight made one of the more insane plays I've seen live. Chase couldn't turn the DP but my goodness we had no business even trying to get that lead out. Colson was 10 feet from the 3B bag falling towards 3B and somehow spun and fired a strike to 2B.

I don't usually buy ballpark food outside a sausage or burger but tried the "crab shack nachos" in CF concourse tonight. Meh. Crab is a savory protein. I don't want it overly sweet. Somehow they drenched the crab salad in this sweet almost like honey sauce and I really didn't like it that much. It reminded me of a strange thai tex mex fusion I had in FLorida at some pop up a few years ago. Just doesn't work imo. 25 bucks for that s%*#, oh well, WHITE SOX WIN.

Happy to add a mysterious victory to the tally. Ten 1 run wins is T-1 in MLB.

Sox have the 4th best record in the AL (and top 10 in MLB) at 25-23 on May 20.

Last year on May 20, they were also playing the middle game of a series vs. SEA and won...improving their record to 15-34.

Crazy what a year can do.

I also want to shout out Venable for the rotation shuffle earlier in this stretch that set Kay up to face SEA twice.

SEA has a .587 OPS vs. lefties (compared to .731 vs. RHP).

Held the Mariners to 1 run in 3 out of 5 games, and two of those were Kay starts.

Ranks right up there with other 'bizarre' one-hitters.

The complete game one-hitters that Rich Dotson (1983) and Freddy Garcia (2005) LOST and Jack McDowell's strange complete game one-hitter at Milwaukee (1991).

Paul Molitor started the Brewers half of the first with a home run...after that Milwaukee got nothing from Jack the rest of the way.

They needed to put Kay out of his misery in the 1st. Instead, and we all know this feeling, they let him off the hook, he found some confidence and the rest is history. I'd be furious as a mariners fan.

good lord the Mariners blog has devolved into people talking about their mental health and the most upvoted reply in the post game is telling someone to take a step back. If you want to know why late aughts style blogging about baseball never really stood the test of time that's exhibit A.

It's a game man. At the end of the day as a fan if your life is that tied up in a game you need to get a grip.

Nothing beats it. I love biking but I also really hate biking up hills here. Thanks to my dad for making me athletic as a kid so I could ride scooters in traffic as much as I do at 40 something.

Man that's a bad look for Dan Wilson. You let Castillo put the first two guys on, get to 50 pitches, then you bring in the "closer": in a game and series you expect to win on the way to the playoffs you totally let fan sentiment and your own feel good BS blow a game.

I know it’s May, but that felt like a big win.

I’m a college basketball coach and there is an old adage that you can’t win until you find a group you’re willing to lose with. That’s the Sox right now.

Too late for me but a nice surprise this morning, don’t see many games like this anymore. It’s time for Taylor to take over as the closer. Let’s take the series today.

Make Taylor the closer and bring up Peoples and you might be cooking up a pretty good one. Especially if Domingues can get it under control as the 7th or 8th inning guy.

Taylor was cookin last night. I watched the MLB.com condensed game and they were all hyped up on Castillo coming in and throwing zeroes, they certainly did not give Taylor the same treatment and he looked just as dominant

Mariners did look "deer in headlights" stunned that they had to bat in the bottom of the 9th. But they got one hit all game, so I'm not sure they were supposed to win that game.

Naylor couldn't make 2 plays. They weren't easy though.. Sox Defense >>>Marines defense.
