I'm sure if you really investigated properly you could come up with plenty of people who liked him from the day he was drafted. Other's saw him for the 1st time in Spring Training and then the WBC. That said, I’m glad the Sox finally have a grindy player who actually grinds. He’s one of my favorites, and it’s crazy how quickly he’s adapted to the outfield.

Vargas, Mune, Peters, Colson, really a whole team (including management and coaches) has turned things around. Depending on how you define "valuable" the most valuable player could be Antonacci. He brings a contagious attitude.

One of these is Sam, and the other is 2025 Jose Ramirez.

I think Crazy Train is overplayed and it hasn't made me feel a thing in years. But man, when I hear the "All Aboard" when there's RISP and I realize Sam's about to bat, I get goosebumps

Same guy also had some thoughts on why Sam has such strong platoon splits:

Sam is the unsung hero of this entire season. He may not do “sexy” things like Mune or Vargas or Colson or even Chase, but he’s a huge reason why we’ve been competitive this season.

Springfield, at a minimum, I wondered if Sam's copping of that surprise double, by way of pure hustle, on the first pitch of the game, might've thrown Melton off his game just enough to set the scene for additional Sox offense. Maybe it didn't affect him at all, but I do wonder.

I love it when you analyze….I think you are so right. It set the tone for Melton to throw a lot of pitches in the first.

Did everyone see that stat as to what Antonacci has done against left handed pitching the last month? He should be in lineup every day.

He is mostly now. They still do pinch hit for him late though.

He is awesome. As hard as this final 5 weeks of regular season are going to be and they may not go as we hope - I really have had a ton of fun this season and enjoy this team a lot!

Twice is a trend. First pitch / first at bat… same thing ( nearly ). 😆

Days are better when Sam is being a Psycho. Winners feel sweeter. Colors are brighter. The sky is clearer.
