Alexei Ramirez? Jose Contreras? Can we partially count Rodon? Viciedo? El Duque? Minoso?

I was assuming the most recent "era." Limiting it to just that, Luis was also a good player for the Sox, he just couldn't stay healthy. His rookie season and 2023 were outstanding.

Expand it to the Sox entire history and it's no contest - no foreign country comes close to Cuba when it comes to having an impact on the White Sox.

The fact that he may be replacing Acuna is enough to love.

Lol. Correct. You are not familiar with Rikuu's game at all I see.

Adam eaton lite without the clubhouse issues is a solid add.

Rikuu's skill set matches what Venable can use either coming off the bench to pinch hit, pinch run, or to spot start. Chuck Garfein's podcast proved to be insightful.

13K views for this in 8 hours ! Funny to hear Queen and then Iggy Pop and the Stooges after that in a modern locker room. Boomer music !

Boomer rock was the best rock. Rock basically was born and died or has been on life support for a lot of years all during the Boomer years.

I’d never heard the term Boomer Rock… it’s Classic Rock in my book 😆

Except Nishida will never put up 6+ fWAR in RF and be traded for today's equivalent of Giolito Lopez Dunning.

Adam Eaton could hit you 14 HRs. Nishida ain't gonna hit 14 doubles.

True, but I'll take 10 runs saved in RF. We somehow got a 6.2 fWAR season out of Eaton. He was never the same after he hurt himself again after that season iirc. Tore his ACL I think.

Rikuu, Antonacci, Teel, Vargas ...this team has TWTW and is going to be fun to watch. The way Rikuu ran in from RF high-stepping after his throw home was the type of thing that fires the team and the fans up.

Fun is winning and winning is fun. You need talent to win. We finally have some.

TBH, I think it is very unlikely that Rikuu can give the defensive value that Eaton did. Eaton was just a really good player, could do a little bit of everything. That's why he was able to put together one of the best White Sox position player seasons of all time.

I am okay with the move but really, really surprised it was Rikuu and not Jacob Gonzalez. Is the plan to put Rikuu in the outfield?

I would guess that Gonzalez and his agent have to be wondering WTF is going on here.

Jacob Gonzalez was a bonafide bust prior to like 4-5 weeks ago when he got hot.

It's great to see him raking, and let's hope it continues. But the Sox don't need someone at the positions he can play. Sox likely prefer he stay hot by playing everyday versus riding the pine in the big leagues. Nishida has actually been playing the OF regularly for a few seasons. Gonzalez is not a good runner and could not play the OF.

Gonzalez will get his chance if he continues to hit, but the Sox owe him nothing.

I'd love to see him wind up on a team like Arizona and just crank for the rest of the season.

Time to learn Korean buddy.

I thought maybe Kelenic was unlucky. BABIP of .344. I guess he's unlucky he struck out so much and didn't hit cutoff men.

It's also occurred to me that Kelenic could have elected free agency just to get another deadline in his minor league contract. He seemed to have some sympathetic boosters among the coaching ranks here.
