On broadcast yesterday they said TBD whether he needs one more start in Charlotte. He is lined up to pitch 7/1 which would have been Sandlin's next start, so my guess is he's called up for the finale in Balt.

Yea, there is no MLB requirement (that I am aware of) that a player on the IL list must go down to the Minors for a rehab assignment. Mune has been rehabbing all along so no need to send him to the Minors. I have a hunch (more of an uninformed guess) that Mune will be activated for the upcoming 4 game series with the Guardians.

McDougal desperately needs innings so I'm not sure I understand the idea. Couldn't he just ramp up over the next 3 weeks and then take Fedde's rotation spot after the ASG?

I think the club should do a bit of both - get him starter innings in July and maybe even into August and than look at where he is inning's wise and use him in the pen potentially to control things. Feels like that was always the plan - cause there are innings limits - but him getting shut down for part of the year certainly slowed it down.

Fedde has been pitching well enough to earn his spot for now. I think the decision will be between him and Kay eventually. They won't eat Kay's salary but I can see using him as an opener or swing man. His metrics are really bad despite whatever smoke and mirrors he's used to get a semi respectable ERA.

With Noah Schultz slated to return from his IL and rehab stint tomorrow and the draft 11 days away, I thought it would be appreciated if I posted this podcast:

The MLB Pipeline guys did a deep dive into "The Next Randy Johnson" and also talk up Roch after seeing him in person the weekend prior to recording.

Another note I saw on Schultz, "He carried a 5 percent walk rate in his first two pro seasons before it spiked to 14 percent when his knee acted up in 2025." Hopefully some of his struggles this season end up being tied to his knee acting up again and we get him back healthy really being able to dial in and flash his promise for us for the next couple of months.

Having him show out as a TOR type arm with Burke seemingly taking a big step up would be massive for this teams chances to make the playoffs and do some damage in them.

Bring me the World Series, White Sox!
