Romo bunting was the worst decision I can remember a manager making in White Sox history. I can’t even begin to describe how mad I am right now. Just so fucking stupid and now I have lost some faith in Venable. Absolutely mind boggling decision there.

Do you not remember La Russa’s intentional walk decisions?

Worse than 0-2 ibb to lad by LaRussa?

I don't really understand how the catcher blocking rule allows the catcher to stand completely blocking the baseline right up until he receives the ball at which time he barely moves his legs out of the way (because the throw never required him to be in the baseline anyway). By the time the catcher gets out of the way, Derek already had to commit to a sliding lane. I feel like they only didn't call blocking because they felt like it was bailing the Sox out, which of course would be true.

His decisions with leaving pitchers in last week were just as bad. He’s a terrible strategist.

It's like he's doing it in spite of repeated failures to prove it can be done effectively in today's baseball and he's committed to making it work.

Where's the flexibility ?

Or Nishida two strike bunt...?

I do think he manages as if he still has a bunch of slugs on the team. He needs to grow as a manager as well.

That bunt is so maddening. I would love for him to explain it to me

you have 3 options, you can let Romo bunt, you can let him strike out or gidp, or you pinch hit for romo with Colson. romo can't hit anything now, and your bench is empty unless you use Colson

Romo is killing this lineup with how bad of a player he is

Why is Gilbert still in right now

It was a 2-0 count pitcher wasn't even close. We bailed them out.

It’s just dumb. We’re good enough we can’t have our manager galaxy braining these situations MULTIPLE TIMES against the best team in baseball.

gotta love Will warming up Taylor to leave in Gilbert.

I just don't understand the bunt. It makes zero sense especially when you show it two times before

100%…you can’t telegraph a suicide squeeze like that. Honestly, I were MLB I’d look into Venable purposely throwing this game for gambling purposes…it’s literally that dumb of a decision to bunt there.

Yea it's one thing to do this s%*# 30 under .500. It's another to be fighting in a game against a good team for a playoff spot and you kneecap it.

It’s literally the anniversary of when he did the 1-2 count IBB lol

My main concern with Romo batting was that he was a threat to GIDP and kill the rally right before our best average hitter. So in that sense, I didn't mind the bunt as a way to avoid that outcome since it gave you a chance to get the run in. That said, it seems like the baserunner wasn't prepared for it at all and the bunt wasn't quite good enough (although good defense beats the safety squeeze much of the time). We even got the hit from Antonacci that I was hoping for but...no dice.

Then try to steal with Hill at 1B, not bunt for no reason and take a guy off of 3rd

Add another lucky hit to the Braves ledger

I'm turning the game off. This L is on Venable. Just a complete dolt.

Braves getting some BABIP luck tonight

I’m an anti-bunt guy to begin with, but there is a time and a place. Safety squeezing after two failed attempts and a 2-0 count is the definition of insanity.

Well you also gave the fielders more of a heads up showing it for 2 pitches before it happened

4-8 is going to require a minor miracle

Good call leaving Gilbert in the 1 run game. On a roll tonight Wil.
