I’m sort of surprised but it’s six of one and a half dozen of the other. Maybe they should have brought back Lee and sent both Quero and Romo down to Charlotte.

I’m good with it since Quero play more regularly down there. This team must really hate Lee, though they would have to make a 40-man move to bring him aboard.

I don't think Lee is ever catching for this team

I get sending Quero down, he's more important to the future of the organization so better to have him go down and get right with playing time instead of sitting on the bench at the MLB level. Better to let Romo hold that spot for now.

This is just a glaring example of how much they hate Lee behind the plate. Can’t get much worse than Romo offensively and defensively, but..

I agree with sending Edgar down. He needs regular at bats. He looked pretty good in the Spring, but started in such a hole. Hopefully, he rights the ship and is back up in August or September.

He would still have options right? Unless you mean we aren't carrying 4 catchers on the 40 man and he'd have to come off there, probably true.

Quero's challenge game alone probably cost them at least 1 war lol

Very excited to have Teel back. He’s a lot of fun to watch, and fills what was a huge black hole in the lineup every night.

Romo is….ugh, but Quero going to AAA is the best move for him right now.

Quero needs to play everyday or as close to that as possible. With him struggling the last thing he needs is to be sitting on the bench 5-6 days a week.

Hopefully he can provide some much needed juice right now with having to play Cleveland seven times in the next 10 days or so.

Yep, he still has future potential and he needs to work on improving. Sure, in an immediate sense the Sox might be better off with him on the 26-man than Romo, but he'd be stagnating here in a backup position.

Lee should of been called up and Romo down

Quero is still someone I believe in, but I get what they are doing. Give him time to get right and get at bats and we'll see him back in August timeframe (hopefully ready to stay for good).

Why? He's 27 year old and has a .297 OBP in Charlotte. At this point he's just org depth. Ship be sailed on him. His hit tool is garbage and the pitchers don't like working with him from all accounts. I liked bringing him in for a trial but he's shown nothing outside a couple decent weeks when he first came up.

I think this move shows the Sox are not giving up on using this as an important development season. Quero, IMO, is the better MLBer today than Drew Romo. But as long as Teel is ready for the workload, Teel is going to get 80%+ of the reps behind the plate. And the difference between Quero and Romo isn't really that big, regardless. But Quero is unlike Romo in that he's young and has shown more offensive potential. Moreover, he didn't spend much time in the high minors. So there's a reasonable expectation that he could actually get better by playing every day in Charlotte, again unlike Romo who has shown you who he is both at AAA and MLB. Believe it or not, once upon a time in the minors Edgar hit for some power! Maybe he can get his swagger back a little bit against pitchers who aren't overwhelming him.
