    You’ve saved the season.

That was an annoying inning. Inch away from a HR and a ridiculous catch to save 2 runs.

Ehhh….thought it was a weak throw given his arm strength. No one should be able to run on him on a 256 routine pop up.

I thought for sure he would throw the runner out at home on that.

I don't think he has a very strong arm. Solid range, but a weak arm.

Which goes against every scouting report that existed about him prior to this year

Nope they love the guy for some reason

And hate Lee.

As rotten as Romo has been, I just don't see them doing anything with him yet. Quero hasn't done anything to get called back up. They're not going to use a 40-man spot on Lee who is playing like crap in AAA. I don't know about Michael Turner's defense but his nice hitting stats in AAA look like a mirage per the Statcast data. I think the Sox are probably going to ride it out and hope Edgar shows some life down there.

Hudson is not a scrub, we don't really have other options for a righty right now especially if you want guys for later in the game

Quero going down instead of Romo is still baffling to me.

It is at the point with Romo you have to send him down. He is an automatic out.

He's a backup catcher. Backup catchers are generally automatic outs. Lee sucks, and while it's fun to dream that Michael Tucker would be another Fisk, he's minor league depth.

Because Lee sucks at catcher too

Good time for one of those extra crooked number innings from the Sox

That’s fine, then go find someone else that can play twice a week and not bat .050 and can catch a ball/challenge pitches. Romo is playing like one of the worst hitters I’ve seen in a Sox jersey the last month.

He wasn’t doing much better. I get trying to salvage Quero’s career.

After Colson I'm done with minor league scouting reports on defense. I think scouts see what they want to see.

Get the rally started Sam!

Edgar was starting to hit the ball hard the last couple weeks before Teel came back. That’s why it’s so confusing he was the one to go down. Romo can’t hit and he can’t catch. I’m not sure what the thought process is there. Also, if people haven’t figured out that Lee will not be catching for this team at the Major League level again, I’m not sure what else they need to do to show you that’s not happening.

I always felt that a lot of people didn't appreciate AJ Pierzynski nearly enough.

I’ve seen his arm in college and he had a cannon. No idea what happened

Quero is 23. He’s like the 3rd youngest catcher in baseball. They don’t have to “salvage” him. Catchers have weird development paths.

How do you get arm strength wrong? He literally used to throw 96 as a pitcher though. Either he's not letting it loose or he lost his velocity on his throws.

This game is far from over if we can hold the O's from more runs

Statcast data on Braden's arm has him averaging about 91mph on competitive throws, which is very good. And FWIW, those same metrics say he's holding runners better than the average RF. But the hardest throw has been 93mph, which is pretty unimpressive and certainly low for a player with a reputed 60-70 grade arm. On the showcase circuit he hit 100 on outfield throws which is more in line with what you'd expect to see on occasion from a guy with a gun out there.

But you look at him throwing and it doesn't look like he's throwing it as hard as he can basically ever. He makes some throws that look impressive, especially on plays where there's no time to get momentum behind the throws — the ball comes out like a strong-armed 3B would throw it on a ball to his backhand side. But then on the few plays like that sac fly, it looks like he throws it with more concern about making it accurate. There's worse things you can do, but it has just left me wondering whether he's nursing some soreness or something.

Cause quero needs to get consistent at bats and may need some adjustment as well. Cant do that riding the bench behind teel and only a couple spot starts.

The games not over yet some of you guys want to throw in the towel too soon.
