Last year before we signed Mune I said that Teel should maybe wind at first base and I was just about laughed off the board.

I don’t think his bat is strong enough for first base. Rather trade him if they took Lackey.

He's played in every game since he's been up and started all but 1 IIRC, so one imagines it's just an extra day off.

We'll see what happens. You said you wished they could open up a divisional lead, without solid consistent pitching that's going to be hard to do. Unless Getz can get some help it figures to go down t

CST = Chicago Sox Time, used to differentiate from Boston Sox Time.

Guessing they'll try to get one more from Noah.

I don’t disagree at all

There is absolutely zero reason to try and go in on the 2026 season at the expense of the farm. Just let this season be a development one, even if our division is pure ass. I just don't want to see the front office overspend on a dream that just isn't ready yet.

Chase Meidroth - cleanup hitter

if we can get a multi year SP then I am willing to give up a top 10 prospect or two

Chase 3-32 when batting 2-4. They really must think he’s some amazing run producer.

1 hit through 4 innings...I wish we were playing at home where we are better!!

...oh

I'm not totally against trying to improve the team since you don't want to piss a way a chance to make a run, but yeah I'd say the goal is basically trying to win with the guys you believe you're going to keep winning with in the years to come.

You turn on the X-Files yet? Turn this crap off already.

Sammy seems to always have an approach at the plate, whether the team is scuffling or not. I wish some of our other hitters could say that.

I just don’t understand Venable sometimes.

Agreed. His decisions are baffling at times.

I’d really like to know what the “Bannister Lab” does. Can’t think of a single young pitcher in this organization that has meaningfully improved this season other than Burke and that is probably more attributed to Bove than anyone else.

I’m sure Bannister also signed off on some of the bad trade acquisitions like Thorpe and Iriarte

In the offseason, I read from an interview with Venable in which he was asked to explain some things about the batting order and he was (surprisingly IMO) open that he could not explain them because batting order is decided by the front office/numbers people. I assume that's still the procedure even if hopefully he's been motivated to do his homework enough to understand the reasoning behind the decisions being made on his behalf.

Crazy having the main piece in the Cease trade being a starter that throws 91 mph. What were they thinking?

Ouch.

How could these numbers people come up with Meidroth batting 4th.

You are a weiner

He just does not look like a guy that is a pitcher. He's throwing, is landing all over the mount, labors, has no flow. Really tough watch. Almost pre pitch clock type tedium.

I don’t think he’s any harder to watch than Cease was when he first came up. He’s far from a finished product.

There's that bad defensive catcher again
