He's played in every game since he's been up and started all but 1 IIRC, so one imagines it's just an extra day off.

We'll see what happens. You said you wished they could open up a divisional lead, without solid consistent pitching that's going to be hard to do. Unless Getz can get some help it figures to go down t

CST = Chicago Sox Time, used to differentiate from Boston Sox Time.

How many runs has Colson cost us the past stretch?

Schultz is not good

His stuff has backed up a ton. At this point, he looks more like a 4-5 at best.

I think they rushed Schultz too early this year.

I get that Schultz is young, etc...but damn if he has shown ZERO command and pitch versatility so far in the bigs.

Both of those sweepers were well located and had the usual, very big break that his sweeper gets (as measured by Statcast). It's either predictable in the count or he's tipping it.

Those weren’t well located at all

Rauch/Schultz

Well, at least Noah is a lot better person

Hasn't the same thing happened with Hagen Smith?

He’s just not ready.

Yes, I don’t think it’s a coincidence

Going to have to make a trade...even if it's just a 4/5 veteran on an exploring contract.

I know he’s playing 3B tonight but I don’t like a guy his height playing SS.

Yup. Pitching development has been straight cheeks. If you aren't questioning Bannister at this point you should be.

Need to completely reshape his breaking ball.

The first one especially. A non-hanging hanger.

But he will tell you he’s the smartest guy in the room

Shane Smith also has lost a lot of velocity since the first half of last season.

Get two back here and figure it out.

100%. Busting on those two picks would be really detrimental to the future of this team.

Pretty close to textbook. Other one was on the lowest edge of the zone but a couple inches more towards the middle. In practice you're rarely going to do better than that in the zone. Real question is why are the hitters so ready for it? Probably not worth it for him to keep using it against righties right now since they're having such bad swings on his fastball/cutter/changeup.

I figured Boston would be tough this series as they’re playing their best ball this year.

Just doesn't have the crispness/snap on his pitches...or the dramatic speed differentials from fb to curve and back like Taylor gets.

Not hiding the ball well either with that delivery.

Up two strike, you don’t want a sweeper to end up on the inner half of the zone. Either backdoor or back foot.

@joejoesox what are we turning on right now? X-Files?

They’re going to have to spend a lot on starting pitching in the coming years
