Prior to that at-bat, Peters has an OPS of .395 since the break. I think we all realized he wasn't gonna hit .800+ OPS the entire season.

Feels like the first big, old school blockbuster series of the year with two of the best teams in the AL. Gonna feel like the ALCS.

  • Facing a lefty? We're toast.

Wow no challenge on that? That was way below the zone.

A scoreless inning from Richards would set up the late innings very nicely. Huge inning here.

Not a very good at bat by Peters.

Savannah Banana ball.

Have Sox considered using Trevor Richards like Old Hoss Radbourn? Just have him pitch every inning of every game?

Appropriate that in a game thread with a lot of “middle aged men” talk that Richards is dealing out there.

Jazz Chisholm, 2 Balls No Cup.

Aced him!

great job by Richards

Great job by Richards. This ump is pretty bad tho lol.

Richards has been surprisingly valuable. Rubber arm and usually quality innings.

I'm so appreciative of what Tristan has done. He's going through a slump which happens to everybody, but now the key is can he make an adjustment because the league has adjusted to him.

Nice job Richards!

I like that he just goes after hitters. It definitely burns him sometimes. Overall he's been a pleasant surprise pick up.

His expected stats have stayed consistent throughout this cold spell. Makes me think he might eventually be a 95-100 wRC+ kind of hitter long term. Which is fine given his defense in center.

Some combo of Hicks/Hudson/Newcomb/Taylor the rest of the way.

Offense needs to scratch 1...or 2 across.

Lots of fly ball outs it seems

Was thinking recently about that guy with the ruptured testicle and all the people saying, "why wasn't he wearing a cup???".

I wouldn't wear a cup if I was a professional baseball player. Imagine wearing that thing 162 days a year for like 7 or 8 hours a day. That's 1296 hours or 54 full days. No thanks. What are the chances of rupturing your balls? Probably pretty low, it's a risk I'm willing to take.

I seem to remember him hitting quite a few warning track shots. He probably shouldn't be doing that long term if he wants to maximize his skill set.

Just feeble swings by Quero from the left side

Agreed, but Acuña has been hitting the ball the past month, might be some competition.

Will never understand how you ground a ball that is a high fastball

Yankees sure are using a lot of guys
