If the deadline was a week later, they would possibly be sellers. What a disaster of a home stand.

Sox need to "Pull a Cleveland" as the kids these days call it. Win the final 2 games and salvage a series split.

Have to say, typing out “schlittler” makes you question “is this word spelled right?” For a while

If we lose tonight and tomorrow, the party is over.

Meh.

This season comes down to inner-division games. Shocker.

Sad but true.

Martin has hit a wall, this series will give JR excuse to do nothing at deadline.

And unfortunately, a terrible starting rotation would be a good excuse.

This is very reminiscent to 2020 where you could just see the pitching run out of gas

Cheap hit from Rice really hurts when you follow it with a walk. Then a 50/50 ball from Goldie gets through. And then you throw something slow down the middle to Spencer Jones for some reason.

How about they stop throwing fastballs every pitch to Rice? That wasn’t an inning you can blame on bad luck.

This team is going to be .500 in no time. I’m not trading away any prospect with a name to improve this team. They will get hammered in the playoffs by the cream of the crop if they even make it.

Haven’t even turned the game on what the hell.

Whelp. I think being aggressive buyers may be done...

I think a lot of the "fastballs" were kick changes. Rice was swinging at them like they were too.

You think they’re making the playoffs?

All fastballs according to tracker

I mean why not? Who else in the division wants it?

The AL Central sucks…this team will be the favorite with a couple of additions.

Yes, it frequently mis-classifies his kick changes as sinkers because he throws them so hard

Well that didn’t take long

Just in time to prevent deadline mistake.

Team just owns us, regardless of who isn't playing for them.

Guardians have the best pitching and easiest SOS remaining

I would love to hear Harry Carey try to pronounce that Yankee pitcher's name.

It’s gonna be a long day folks.

Wild to me how many Sox fans actually don’t want to compete for a playoff spot and prefer to be miserable and clutch meh prospects. I think I may need to exit the gamethread for the night…not sure I can handle the Panicans whine at length about the offense not scoring despite facing one of the best pitchers in the game.

And don’t seem all that good either.

Problem with appearing to give up at the trade deadline is loss of attendance and media dollars the rest of the season and perhaps an inability to resign Murakami moving forward. Then 3 more games with the Cubs which could be rough.
