You absolutely need take on the 3-0 count in that situation. He would still have to come at you two more times with the game on the line. And the 3-1 pitch was a slider. I don’t mind that take at all. The 3-2 pitch was the issue, not the previous two pitches.

When he couldn't throw a strike, I think you take two. They got to 3-0, and Stone just blurted out, "NO! I know you were going to ask, and no, you don't swing on 3-0, and maybe not even 3-1."

However, I think Colson has to offer at 3-1. That seemed inevitable he would throw it in the dirt, and Colson would bite.

I was at a game against the Yankees years back and NY was in last place at the time...and their fans were still unbelievably obnoxious.

This is reasonable. But the 3-0 question that the Schriff-dawg keeps asking makes me think he is either trolling or is truly that baseball stupid. And I’m glad Stone finally erupted on him tonight. 🤣

We have an announcer that probably knows every SlamBall rule in the book but still wonders why a batter doesn’t swing on a 3-0 count with the bases loaded.

When he just delivers the game as an “invisible” play-by-play guy, I think he’s actually great.

When he tries to manufacture excitement is when he comes across so… phony.

He’s way better now than when he first started, and I think the generic stuff like “does he have the green light here on 3-0?” will eventually be supplemented for the most part with more meaningful content (including just… silence).
