I hope he's replaced. He's gotten better, but he has some way too cringe-worthy moments for my liking. The "Yeah buddy" and "I See You" s%*# is too much and forced. I wish they'd get Plesac in there full-time.

John Schriffen is orders of magnitude dorkier than Jason Benetti

Connor McKnight is better than Schriff and it's not close. I would let Schriff go and let Connor take over.

Plesac is a big time cheeseball as well but I do like some of his stories since he has experience in baseball as a reliever.

If I was Schriffen I would aggressively explore other options. This fan base, as it is, has not been kind to him let alone supportive. John has worked for CBS, ESPN, NFL Network, so I am sure he will land somewhere.

We can only hope.

His experience was SlamBall. That’s why no one respects him.

Now it all makes sense

he strikes me as a much better national announcer then home announcer. I think he's decent at calling a game and have a feeling the annoying schtick is featured less as he has to be neutral.

He is, but he's an authentic cheeseball and a real Sox fan. Hawk was too. I'll take that any day of the week over inauthentic, forced, or pretend fandom.

I keep saying it over and over: I don’t understand people complaining about the play-by-play guy. He gives the plat-by-play. Who cares.

If the Sox win, we have the best announcers. If they lose, along with players and management, our announcers suck.

Really, I like “Yeah Buddy!”

And when used at the appropriate time, I enjoy me some, “Stand up South Side”.

I agree that he is authentic in the sense that Plesac knows White Sox history and grew up a fan. I also enjoy hearing his experiences in baseball. BUT...I feel the past few times he has subbed in on the broadcasts that he does "force" his fandom into his analysis. He wants that gig full-time and he thinks reminding everyone he is a White Sox fan will help him get that gig. He mentions it constantly...

I guess I'm weird in that I don't really concentrate too much on what the broadcasters are saying; they're background noise for the game until something big or interesting happens. I like Schriff....I like the positivity he brings, the raw excitement he exudes. He def pairs better with Plesac.

This, exactly.

Plesac grew up a White Sox fan going to games. He has lifetime carte blanche with me.

We already know being a lifetime Sox fan means nothing if you like food while on air.

Caught a glimpse of my wife after the shower walking in nothing but a towel. Gave her an emphatic "yeah buddy!".

She told me, "this is why I don't feel bad about sleeping with my boss at the Christmas party last year."

Shout out to Schriff Dawg for helping me to get the wife talking dirty to me again!

I miss Hawk being silent for 10 minutes after the Sox did something stupid. I wish more announcers did that.

Guy has no ability to speak without all of the spaghetti falling out of his pocket. Keep him off the airwaves, he has a voice for print.

So I have really enjoyed Plesac on the calls, and I think he compliments Schriffen's style better than Stone does. But there's also a part of me that fears Plesac's schtick will get old once he's been here a while and we've heard all of his stories.
