That was vintage Castillo. When the guy is on he is impressive. Now add on some runs!

the look on ely's face there was priceless. He's seen enough of Sam.

Castillo pitched a great game

Masterful. This is a very positive development for the Sox going forward, and for our chances for the post season.

So, why wasn't he throwing his change in Seattle?

I think it had something to do with a shoulder issue initially, but I don’t know why he didn’t go back to it when the shoulder thing calmed down.

He didn't even have the feel on his fastball tonight. He had the change, but none of his other pitches were amazing tonight and he still almost had a no hitter thru 7 lol.

Schriff does not measure up to Hawk and his hawkerisms. You can put it on the board Yes! ; grab some bench. ;can of corn 🌽; you can cancel the post game show, amongst others. The Hawk is irreplaceable. IMO.

Gas and He Gone became part of cultural baseball language at one point. I still say them myself.

Clearly we made some sort of adjustment. His change up was nowhere near that good in his Boston start and was rated as his worst pitch when he was on the Mariners.

Would be pretty sweet if it was something the Sox saw as an easy adjustment and it made a difference for him. Would make me a lot more confident in our pitching infrastructure

We did revive Martin's career with the kick change.

Crazy how that was the change the Sox made. They even mentioned it before tonight's game. Simply having him throw more changeups.

I don’t live in Chicago and I hear people saying “he gawn” with Hawk’s cadence an they don’t know who Hawk Harrelson even is.

Castillo was a beast tonight.

Coop fixed Castillo!

They must have had a good Zoom call.

Schriff should adopt this call in honor of Hawk

Both Danny Farquhar and the tall journeyman starter with the over the top delivery from a couple years ago came over from the Mariners and talked about how they have a fairly rigid philosophy of how to be a good pitcher and if you don't fit the mold, they're not going to do much for you. Hard to criticize their pitching dev but might mean there are a few of their castoffs that you can fix up.

Quite impressive outing by Castillo. He finished really strong !

Did exactly what the Sox got him for tonight.

In my opinion it’s one of the best calls of all time. Simple and to the point and everything is said by the tone in which it’s delivered. Broadcasting in its best.

what an athletic play by their pitcher.

I wonder if Sam even stopped at third
