I keep thinking about this because it makes me slightly erect. The Sox infield has so much damn potential in the near future. I think our defense can be top notch. This is how I would like it to shake our earlier in the season. I think Bonemer will be ready pretty early.

C - Teal

1B - Vargas

2B - Chase

SS - Colson

3B - Bonemer

RF - Braden

CF - Peters

LF - Chase

DH - Mune

My only concern is whether Vargas and Mune will be OK with changing positions. I think Vargas is probably a better 1st baseman. Maybe you let them split time to keep Mune happy. Also, playing Vargas occasionally at 3B to keep him happy. I'd imagine Bonemer would be better at 3rd than Vargas.

Then there is scenario where Roch is ready mid season. I'm not banking on it, but it's possible. That makes things trickier. Good problem to have.

If Montgomery is gone, which I don't think will happen (but I would make it happen), I think Bonemer replaces him. From there, I don't think you see Roch until a year afterwards. I think you'll see Vargas at 2B before you see Roch make his debut.

I think Chase is decent but doubt he has the speed to play second and left simultaneously lol. Think you mean Ant in left.

The biggest decision will be at SS, will the Sox go another year with Colson until Roch is ready or maybe go with Meidroth as SS and Ant at 2B.

To tell the truth, I’d keep both of those guys before Colson, both have a higher OPS and WAR than Colson.

If Bonemer can play CF well, it can greatly approve your outfield defense if Peters moves to LF. As for Antonacci, he could be the odd man out and trade bait.

One of Sam, Colson, Chase is probably the odd man out and out of those guys it's easiest to see Sam imo. Love him to death but not sure he's a legit MLB 2B and in LF his value isn't that great.

Other thing I could see would be selling high on Peters for SP and keeping the young IF core together. We'll see, good problem to have.

I’d hate to trade Peters. Just get JR to spend some money on starting pitching.

It also depends on if they can extend Vargas and Mune
