8 hours ago8 hr He's not having a very good year but I would consider taking a punt on him. I realize he isn't an outfielder but it is a right handed slugger, an area we do lack in. I'm a massive fan of his. Might be worth a punt.https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7542192/2026/08/27/eugenio-suarez-tj-friedl-reds-moves/

7 hours ago7 hr Once again, the Sox OPS vs Left is .742, 108 OPS+, 7th in MLB. What is adding a 35-year-old DH who is .668 vs Left going to do? Is he going to play over Grichuk? Who gets bumped off the roster?Kinda fucked up for the Reds to waive him though. It was supposed to be this heartwarming homecoming. Edited 7 hours ago7 hr by nrockway
7 hours ago7 hr Not gonna lie he plays like a bum when it doesn’t matter and then gets up for big spots, he would be a fun guy on the bench. However, man oh man we need a Magic starter to fall to us lol

2 hours ago2 hr My guess is the Sox pickup Littell. I wouldn’t be mad at them picking up Robert or Suarez, but pitching is the mystery that needs to be solved.

2 hours ago2 hr He sucks and we already have plenty of DH options for tough LHP. I'd rather pickup Robert and I don't really want Robert either.

1 hour ago1 hr I don't really see a fit on the current Sox team. Who doesn't love a bat, but you have to consider that this is not Frank Thomas. He might not hit well in the short time he would be with the team. So thinking about the things you definitely won't get — contributions on defense or on the bases — I don't see the point. Very decent chance that he makes you worse. If Randal Grichuk died, I'd be more open-minded.
1 hour ago1 hr Just so we're on the same page, this is a dude who hit 49 home runs just last season. Yes, he's having a historically subpar season so far but Randal Grichuk he ain't. Sounds like it may be a moot point, though.
1 hour ago1 hr This reminds me of the Doyle and Castillo moves in that you are partially putting playoff hopes on fixing a guy in a very short period of time. I get why you would avoid him, plus immortal question...Where would he play?

More importantly, he has a .982 ops at Comiskey. 2 home runs here this year. I think he's likely looking for one final shot at a World Series so putting him in a pennant race will probably entice him.

He had a .956 OPS in the ALCS last year. Edited 50 minutes ago50 min by 35thstreetswarm

44 minutes ago44 min Author I have to be honest, and I know Suarez isn't a like for like but I'd consider sending acuna down to make space for him. I don't know what acuna's value is right now beyond pinch running. And O'Doyle can do that. Would rather have a guy with power off the bench.

You gotta DFA him and if he gets claimed he gone. Which, admittedly, some won’t mind

Now I do - Suarez could back up Vargas at third and DH. Lineup against lefties would be:Grichuk LFDoyle CFMontgomery RFVargas/Suarez 3BMeidroth/Colson SSAntonacci/Meidroth 2BMurakami/Vargas 1BSuarez/Murakami/Grichuk DHWho cares they both suck C
