Mets' Luis Robert Jr. Placed on Waivers in New MLB Rumors...

The New York Mets placed outfielder Luis Robert Jr. on outright waivers, according to MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.

“Any team that claims him would be on the hook for the $3 million remaining on Robert's contract for this season. Robert's deal also includes a $20 million team option for 2027 or a $2 million buyout. In total, there is approximately $5 million guaranteed to Robert.“

No one is going to pick up his 20 million dollar option.

Yep. But a team is only on the hook for about $4.5M including buyout.

Someone might take the gamble for the rest of the year just so it’s not the White Sox.

The deadline for a player qualifying to be on the play-off roster expires today or tomorrow.

IMO, hard pass on Robert Jr.

If Kenny Williams was GM he would add any big name player and tell the boss it was worth the price, referencing KW signing the other Jr. late in the season for his own foolish, self-serving reasons.

2008 turned out as well as possible, all things considered

better than 2012 LatosManny Ramirez/Youkilis...or 2016 with Frazier Shields Rollins Latos

Or the constant procession of Alomars
