Tommy Pham is back

Strange and unexpected move prior to rosters expanding. I’m sure a big part of this is his “fight”, work ethic, and presence. The brass must think he’ll add another veteran voice who will help the team maintain the balance of pushing forward while keeping their focus under pressure.

Haven’t dug into his numbers but my guess is he has hit right handers well in the past.

Kind of wish we had just kept Hill since that dude was clutch this year.

Welp… let’s go Tommy - show us what you’ve got!!!

Would have been so simple. Hill. A good guy and a ball player. Instead of this useless churning.

I would keep Rogers as insurance with Teel having an injury prone season.

Joey Bart should also be back before the season's over.

Thorpe is eligible regardless.

I don't know who said it, but the best way to get the quickest, most accurate answer on the internet is NOT to ask the question, but to confidently state a wrong answer.

They had to give Philly money. Paying money for a guy who might not even play is not, by definition, cheap.

This thread has not disappointed so far

It is because I bet there's someone else better will come around, but maybe makes more money and the Sox will balk at that.

Do you just hold him on the IL the rest of year “on a rehab assignment” at some point so he’s playing but they don’t need to actually activate him? He kinda feels like a guy who could be DFA’d for roster 40-man roster space soon

Yes, it would be stupid but that likely isn’t the case either.

If Pham was DFA’ed, the cash considerations could be as low as $100K. But this appears to be a trade without a DFA involved so I believe the cash considerations could potentially be for as low as one single dollar.

My guess is that he will play regardless.

Did they ever announce official compensation to Rays for Peters, it was $$$/ptbnl...?

“Naw, we ain’t takin that. I don’t care how many L’s we’ve got this year.”

The Narrator said, “It was in this moment that White Sox fans across the world knew that John Schrifin wouldn’t cut it.”

Just cash

This is all hindsight, but we really shouldn't have even bothered trading him.

My best guess as to what roster moves will happen over the next 5 days:

Tues: Pham selected, Perez DFA McDougal recalled

Wed: Martin activated, Schweitzer optioned

Fri: Teel activated, Rogers DFA Thorpe activated, Urquidy DFA

Should be a busy week for the White Sox!

I’d rather have Urquidy than Pham and Rogers than Romo.

After listening to Will on the pregame, Pham is a part of the plan into October. Wow.

Believe he’s wondering how much of that cheddar exactly.

Which players can be signed for big bucks right now?

Teel has to be considered "iffy" until everybody's on hunting trips this December. It's possible Bart is ready before regular season games are done.

The fire and the passion!

…and the bat of a 38-year old nearing retirement.

Getz has carried on Kenny and Hahn’s legacy of thinking he can squeeze a few more magical appearances out of old washed-up players. A true White Sox tradition.

That’s why GM’s get an entire offseason and trade deadline. So you don’t have to rely on guys like Doyle and Pham come playoff time.

Ran over budget at $100 million lol.

Every team relies on players like Doyle and Pham.
