Vargas

Peters

Hudson/Newcomb

Crochet trade TBD

Bonemer where he was drafted

Picking up Mead and then Boston Smith, but both long gone

Thanks for spelling it out, Caulfield. A 26 year old starting center fielder for cash considerations is insane. Peters’ age and arbitration years are probably what makes him Getz’s best acquisition of all time, if not his second best trade considering what he gave up versus Vargas… a.k.a. nothing.

if the Sox had a competent owner, Getz would be out of baseball where he belongs, not running a pro sports team

Mason Adams + Hays or Pereira + Boston Smith in the minors makes this team better than Castillo + Doyle for this season and future seasons. This isn’t that difficult to understand.

  • It’s so nice hearing DJ.

Like I said, he has Vargas. Every GM in the league finds good bullpen arms for a season. Both those guys are old, and their contribution past this season is what?

We will see about Peters next season.

Hudson they have under control.

We shall see...relievers not named Hader or Mason Miller are unpredictable.

Which is why some teams still go against the grain and pay up for that certainty at the back end of games.

I am not giving Getz credit for DFAing a guy, then picking him back up, and him having a solid season. Sorry.

Your optimism a couple weeks ago was founded. This shouldn’t have happened, but the worst trade deadline moves in history contributed to this.

Yeah I thought sure they could falter a little and make it more interesting than it needed to be, but this is bullshit.

Not sure how some of yall have the energy and headspace to pick apart every single Venable decision. It’s exhausting just reading the posts.

More power to you I guess.

We don’t pick apart every Venable decision, only the bad ones. There are plenty, so it keeps us busy on the keyboard. 😂

I know I know, I’ve been venturing into the game threads a little too frequently lately
