Today would go a very long way towards a playoff spot. Just find a way to win the fucking game. Tribe have a bad offense. Make them put it in play as we did last night and don't walk very many and we'll be good.

I agree. That's why I don't like Murphy starting

  • The Colson and Mune stuff is tough to watch on both a fan and a human level. My guess is they’re mentally drained, making them way more susceptible to feel the pressure and therefore less able to make

Same people would be up in arms if Martin was only able to go 4 and Murphy had to go in to a medium leverage spot in a close game in the 5th. Will doesn't exactly have the 90s Braves staff to work wit

Cleveland looks BAD BAD. Probably how Pirates fans felt about the Sox last week.

The Ramirez hand injury plus him just finally showing some age really hurt them. Probably the difference between where they are and being tied with us or a game or two ahead. That said, nobody is going to feel sorry for injuries as a Sox fan, our 3 WAR catcher missed basically the entire year and we all know the pitching injuries.

It kind of reminds me of when Luis Robert hurt his wrist and spent two months swinging terribly with one arm. Ramirez is trying to be himself and his body is not letting it happen

Murphy is a dangerously misguided move by Will Venable but then again what else would anyone expect from this mismanaging Manager. A walk an a hit batter I’m sure of and then what?

If they are going to use an opener, I'd rather them just go with Newcombe again.

Hopefully we can get this game to the later innings tied or with a lead and then use a rested Hudson, Hicks, and Taylor to close it down

How is this dangerously misguided when they have been doing this all season, with a lot of success? Come on now, this entire season has been like this don’t act like he needs to follow conventional wisdom now

Starting the same guy two days in a row is pretty risky

I agree but so is starting Chris Murphy

I think that risk is better, keep Nuke ready

Hindsight is 20/20 but should have used Murphy with a 5 run lead last night and had Hagan open today. Hopefully Murphy can shut them down.

The line has gone from -128 clev to -151 clev since the news of Murphy came out.

He should be following some kind of wisdom. Sounds more like reckless abandon to me. The issue isn’t what he has been doing all season. The issue is what he’s doing today which is negative critical mass.

How is it negative critical mass

It’s a tipping point.

So you are just gonna keep throwing cliches out there instead of saying you don’t like Murphy? Mmk

Not gonna write the guardians off but I'll just say their body language after going down was atrocious. Not something I'd want to see if I were a fan.

They aren’t cliches. I don’t like Mr Murphy as the opener tonight and I’d dare say I’m not the only one.

You said it was “dangerously misguided”, “reckless abandon”, “negative critical mass”, and a “tipping point” and I asked you to expound and all you did was give me another cliche. Glad you finally got to the point

I’m enjoying the lame cliche responses lol

Unrelated but very irritating is cubs faced Reynolo Lopez and Martin Perez last two days.

Don't mind the opener just mind Chris Murphy. Wasn't Atlanta that lit him up as an opener.

But it's low-hanging fruit that doesn't move the needle ;)

To continue my whining, why not save Schultz to open today? I also think Schweitzer is better than Murphy.

Sir it’s midday this is low hanging fruit time
