2 hours ago2 hr I know there is no perfect free agent pitcher this year sans Skubal, but is anyone concerned that King's K rate dropped quite a bit this past year? All his expected and fielding independent numbers point to him being a 4+ ERA pitcher the past 2 seasons, almost a full run higher than his ERA during this time. When you're paying for a pitcher, you're paying him for what he might produce, not what he's produced before. None of his underlying metrics suggest that he will continue to be the low 3 ERA pitcher he's been. I doubt Jerry will pony up the $120+ million he might get over 5 years anyway, but just food for thought.

Not a lot of innings on that arm either. And 31 so not like he’s going to sign a crazy like 7+ year deal. Also was previously offered QO so can’t be offered again.
