I thought it was an exciting World Series. Any series that doesn't include the Cubs, Red Sox or Yankees is fine by me.

  • Brewers loss also means the Sox and Yankees are still the only teams to go 11-1 in the postseason.

Happy for the brewers. They are a class organization and have been disrespected for years becuase they don't come from a major media market. But they have been a juggernaut over the last ten years.

Now that the Brewers have won the World Series, here are the five longest current WS title droughts:

Guardians (1948)
Padres (never, 1969 expansion)
Mariners (never, 1977 expansion)
Pirates (1979)
Orioles (1983)

EDIT: O's drought is 1983, not '82. How can I forget?😠

Pratt's first Game 5 hit was an RBI single to center that scored Brice Turang and gave Milwaukee an early 1-0 lead. That hit was his fifth consecutive, tying him for the previous rookie World Series record with Brian Doyle, who registered five consecutive hits in the 1978 World Series.

Pratt fouled out in his third at-bat of Game 5, which brought his hitting streak to an end. But he still drove in a run, which gave the Brewers a 4-0 lead in the sixth.

Baumann Fgraphs

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The past nine years were the best run in Milwaukee Brewers history: eight postseason appearances, six division titles, 869 regular-season wins, for a 93-win-per-season pace over almost a full decade. An MVP, a Cy Young — probably two, by this time next month — and plenty of turnover: two front office bosses, two field managers, 193 players.

But 11 teams had been to the World Series since 2018; six had won. Not the Brewers. Until this year.

The nervous 12-inning staring contest of Game 4 delayed Milwaukee’s coronation by just one day. Cooper Pratt put the Brewers ahead with an RBI single in the second. Jacob Misiorowski pitched the best game of his postseason career — 5 2/3 scoreless innings with just two singles and a walk allowed — before leaving with a cramp after 86 pitches.

Poor Cleveland, Ope.

1) It was really a lousy World Series. I would imagine the TV ratings had to be dismal outside of Wisconsin. 2) I read that half of the stadium at the Trop last night were Milwaukee fans. That doesn't say much for the Rays fanbase. The Rays players could not have been that happy with that situation. It will be curious to see if the Rays draw any better at the new stadium in Tampa.

What's incredible is that they're within sight of the Red Sox infamous 86-year drought and the White Sox infamous 88-year drought. They'll be at 79 years heading into next season.

Personally I watched maybe 5-6 innings across a couple games, didn't watch last night had Bulls on. Baseball is just a very regional sport and my fandom certainly isn't high enough after 170 or so Sox games to tune in nightly in late October.

That said, happy for the Brewers, they have a class org and it's nice to see Yelich get a ring.

Rebounded nicely from being down 1-0 after first batter of the season

Chase homered off some really good pitchers last year. Misiorowski, Chapman, Bednar, Abreu.

Bingo! KC vs Pittsburgh would be good too

Do you think it was a lousy World Series because of the teams involved, because of the result, or because of the tv ratings?

I thought it was one of the best world series I have ever watched. Great baseball all around. If you like baseball they were great games. I see why Jerry stopped taking your calls.

The first two games were nailbiters and game 4 went into extra innings after the Rays came back in the bottom of the 9th. The Brewers are also a very exciting team to watch.

MLB needs to get away from the mindset that games are only interesting if one of the big market teams are involved. It's a 30-team league.

Yeah it was 1 blow out, 3 great games, and 1 good game. If you couldn't appreciate this series, I am not sure why you would watch baseball.

Murphy not getting an invite to coach the Yankees any time soon lol

And just in case you didn't catch that, here's what Pat Murphy told Bauers:

"You're going to be a rich f***er. Just remember when you're on that horses*** Yankees team and you're all playing for yourselves, just remember this is the way we used to do it."

Bauers, 31, turned in a breakout season with the Brewers in 2026. The lefty hit .266/.389/.484, with a career-high 26 home runs, during the team's championship season. After signing a one-year, $2.7 million deal with the Brewers last offseason, Bauers is set to be a free agent in a few days. His breakout should earn him a fair amount of looks from bigger-market teams, ones that can outspend the Brewers and give Bauers a ton of money.

Ratings were much better than expected for a series that was a blowout without Games 6-7.

Did much better than DBacks Rangers three years ago.
