On the Score's update segment when talking about the Sox game, they said that Danny Wright might need Tommy John surgery. Anyone else hear about this? Got any additional info?

This is no surprise if true, obviously something is wrong with the guy, you just don't fall off the face of the Earth like he has the past two seasons for no apparent reason.

Or atleast you don't suffer that big of a drop in velocity. He was hitting mid-90s in 2002, and then he suddenly loses it? That's not right. The only other explanation is, of course, if he had gnomes in the wrong spot. Well, that's what Billy Koch thought apparently(atleast it looks like maybe that is what caused it...who knows)

The reasons for Koch's struggles are well-known, if you talk to the people who will actually talk about it, figure it out for yourself, it's pretty self-evident when you begin to think long and hard about it. And I've heard it from a few people connected with the Sox, so I'm pretty confident I am right on the money in what exactly happened with Koch. Hopefully he continues to throw the ball better like he has his last few outings.

LMAO, no I was talking about an offseason article that Koch did an interview for. He basically said that when he moved to Chicago, he put some gargoyle or gnome like things up in the wrong spot and it cursed his year.

It was just Bill pulling some s***.

It is definately good to see him doing better though. That 1-2-3 inning against a good offense is a hell of a start for future success. I highly doubt he earns his $6 mill...in other words, I doubt he puts up $6 mill numbers...but if he can get s*** together, I'll be happy. I've wanted his ass out of here for quite some time...if he can serve me crow, I'll eat it with pleasure.

Very sad if true.  I thought this guy had a nice future if he could ever get his control in order.

TJ surgery is not the end of the road for any pitchers. AJ Brunett had TJ surgery last year, and he was hitting 98 in a rehab assignment the other day.

He still could have a bright future. He needs to just harness his s*** and use it to the best of his ability.

I still see him as a reliever in the end.

Problem is Wright really doesn't have another Pitch except for the Curveball and it's not very good. Can he comeback? Yes he maybe can learn to pitch and get people out Being a Junkballer (Term for soft throwing and curveball righthanded Pitchers) but it's gonna be dificult. It even could help Danny.

Former Sox Pitcher Roberto Hernandez had TJ and threw hard when he came back and pitch for a bunch of years more

Yeah, guys bounce back from TJ routinely these days.

Of course the obvious problem here is.....If BrandoFan knew Wright's arm was really f***ed up as early as May 2003 just watching him whince while short-arming a curve.......HOW IN THE WORLD CAN A MAJOR LEAGUE TEAM FIGHTING FOR POSTSEASON NOT KNOW AND/OR DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT RIGHT THERE AND THEN???!!!!!!!

Amazing. Just another day in Soxland, I guess.

When Wrong was healthy, his knuckler was unhittable. In 2002, his change was very serviceable as long as he had a mid-90s heat.

Now he needs to come back healthy and become a hard-throwing reliever.

SHUT DOWN: Initial results from Dan Wright's MRI earlier this week revealed that the right-hander might not pitch for a while.

Not only was shoulder damage apparently found, but there likely is elbow ligament damage. The worst-case scenario has Wright on the shelf for up to two years while recovering from multiple surgeries.

Trainer Herm Schneider said the initial results are not official and that Wright will see arm specialist James Andrews in Birmingham, Ala., to get the official word.

Buiried at the end of lastnight's game coverage.

Holy Feck!! There HAD to be a reason he has sucked so badly the last 2 years, now we know. That kind of damage isn't just the result of a couple starts...thats something that has built on his arm for a while unfortunately.

Well you guys wanted a shot to see some of the young arms, or a move, so hold your breath!!!

Wow, is all I can say, hopefully it's not that bad and Danny can recover from this horrible setback, and the best to him, and let's hope he makes a speedy recovery and pitches like he did in 2002. :headbang

So the personal attacks on, the vitriol for, the hatred of, Danny were not necessary.

He was not the biggest piece of s*** to ever wear a Sox uniform.

He was badly injured.

Just saying.

Danny, will keep you in my prayers.

And perhaps looking up the definition of "hypocritical"..

Just sayin..

if you are saying that I ever bashed on Wright, you are most very totally absolutely wrong, I have caught a lot of flack and mocking for being on Danny's side, and I always stood in support of Wright as a good pitcher

if you are saying that ss2k4 bashed on Wright, I have no recollection of that whatsoever

Excuse me?

The "bashing" was absolutely necessary. It was not an indictment of his personality, his soul or worth as a man.......but of his PITCHING abilities. He pitched like s*** as a member of the White Sox, a cute finish to 2002 notwithstanding. It's a fact.

If it wasn't thw Sox being criminally stupid and not shelving him early in 2003 when he lost all that velocity and break....it can only mean one thing: he HID a f***ing injury and couldn't win in 19 straight starts, in the process helping destroy a very important, historic 2003 season and already put the Sox in the hole in 2004.

:puke
