Some New Rumors

Was listening to the radio just now and they had some reports from the GM Meetings (which begin tonight).

- Carlos Beltran's agent informed the Angels he is looking for a 10yr 150 mill deal. Angels appear interested. If in fact he is really looking 15 mil a year for 10 yrs, Beltran may just become a little more affordable, especially if a team is able to pickup an affordable insurance on the contract.

- Shawn Green for Sosa deal is now being discussed as a 3 way with Sosa ending up in Colorado in exchange for Shawn Chacon and Charles Johnson; Dodgers are also talking about a Green for Piazza swap.

- Jason Kendall (rumors out their about the Sox possibly being interested) is also being pursued by the Dodgers. Dodgers are said to be offering a package involving Yhancy Brazoban.

Should be an interesting Gm meetings. They also made mention of all 3 of the big 3 being on the block in Oakland. Said to not hold out the fact that Beane may move more then one, depending on how seroius he is in regards to a rebuilding project (Personaly I don't buy this one bit ,cause he'd be a freaking fool to do something like this).

And Dave Littlefield's an idiot if he does that. Maybe there's a way we could get Wilson as well as Kendall, wouldn't mind having Wilson on the Southside at all. He crushes lefties.

If we did in fact trade konerko, gload and wilson would be a pretty solid platoon imo.

Ross and Brazoban for Kendall and Wilson?

Is that with LA taking on all of Kendall's contract too?  Cuz if not...ouch

It would have to be for the pirates to give up wilson, if not, like you said, ouch. I have read several different articles and not all include wilson, so who knows.

Guillen, Beltran, Guerrero...best outfield of our generation?

Technically put: Anderson, Beltran, Guerrero but ya, its still the best outfield in our generation if its healthy.

I stick to what I've said and thats that Guillen will be so far out of Anaheim it isn't even funny. They may be saying one thing, but they don't want GA in CF.

Wow the A's rebuilding?  I guess that might make sense given their horrible attendance dispite their great teams of the last few years.

That's a franchise they should move.....again....

Those "fans" don't deserve that organization. They lose quality guys ALL THE TIME and yet stay competitive every year. I know some would draw a parallel to the White Sox in that regard ( replace Cubs with Giants for media/fan competition ), but seriously, if the Sox were as consistently good as the A's have been, the attendence at USCF would absolutely be better than it is in Oakland, without a doubt.

From Philadelphia to Kansas City to Oakland to.........?

Ben Maller.com mentions that Sexson quite possibly already has a contract worked out with the M's but that the two sides will hold off announcing it for a while.

Bill Bavasi doesn't want to make the same mistake as last off-season when they signed Raul Ibanez real quick, and then the Royals offered him arbitration so the M's lost draft picks.

San Jose. There was some rumblings toward the end of the season and playoffs that the A's could move to San Jos, just a pipe dream though. The Giants were said to be angry because the South Bay is there area (They have a minor league team there). Another rumor that will never happen is in Richmond California. They are still in the east bay, but it would be part of a new Indian Casino. Like I said that was a one day rumor. But they are seriously thinking about moving if a new staduim is not funded.

I still assume that the Dbacks are gonna offer him arbitration regardless. He'll likely get a semi pay cut through arbitration and the Dbacks have to know he's gonna get a pretty good offer somewhere (if not from them) and they'll get two picks.

I did not know where to put this, but i just emailed a represenative from rotoworld asking why they did not have alex sanchez in rotoworld's predictions of al rosters for 2005. He said that from what information they have recieved, he is as good as non-tendered. They will be looking to upgrade over the winter.

Alex sanchez could help us fill several needs.

:o Damn, that guy is a pest, he can hit, he can run, he can bunt, problem is he can't walk. I'd absolutely love to get this guy though, damn that got me excited, what an addition he'd be.

4th outfielder perhaps? But we still have Timo around for that job. I don't think Sanchez is leadoff starting outfield quality though. There's a reason he's gone from both Milwaulkee and now by the looks of it Detroit.

That would work for me. He would automatically become bunter, left handed bat, and decent base stealer.
