KevHead0881
QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) BEVINGTON MANAGED BETTER THAN OZZIE IS MANAGING THIS PAST WEEK. AND HE DID NOT FLAP HIS JAW EVERYTIME SOMEONE HAD AN OPINION ABOUT HOW HE HAS DONE. Yet the media, fans and players appear to like Ozzie more. Go figure. Gene Honda Civic
QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) This needs to be bumped. I don't think there was anything wrong with his BP usage tonight.... Brantley would have loved it. Going with the "defined closer" to get the last 3 outs. The real mistake was not PHing for MB. I suppose that could be called not trusting your bullpen, but I think it was more of a case of Ozzie not understanding the importance of one extra run, more than BP mismanagement. Yeah I meant to bump it for that decision. Just for the "rant here on Blizzard of Oz" part.
greg775
I wouldn't blame Oz. Maybe it's Oz's personality, etc. that has us with the best record in ball. Did you see Mark B when he got pulled? He laughed and kidded with Oz. The players obviously love him. He is the guy who made Hermy the closer for the 15 saves he's gotten. A couple screwups are inevitable. He's handled this team great so far. It's not like we have a powerhouse here. WE have a nice team.
3E8
QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) He laughed and kidded with Oz. The laughing/giggling/hand holding is getting old. It seems like once every week now Ozzie manages a game that has this board shaking its collective head, and not just because hindsight is 20/20. It seems like once every week now Ozzie manages a game that has this board shaking its collective head, and not just because hindsight is 20/20. The sad thing is that tonight's game was nowhere near as badly managed as those two Angels games were. That's not exactly a compliment to Ozzie. Jabroni
My point was that Ozzie getting along with the players has nothing to do with his bad managerial decisions. Being a players' manager doesn't get him off the hook when he makes bad moves.
