Why's that, just pure pessimism that we'll actually make a move and that Mr. Zero would be right?

A move better be made. This team has died over the last month in a half. Our manager keeps trotting these disfunctional lineups.

So there has been nothing about this trade since before the Sox game? Did Mr. Zero strike again?

During our great start, our hitting isnt great. We can argue before that almost 50% of our batting order are new players and it might take time for the hitters to blend in and get hot as a group.

 

But 4-5 months into our season, the hitting isnt there still. We need to get somebody in our lineup to boost our offense. Timo and Harris for the playoff run very scary.

KW needs to pick up somebody. a 5-5 road-trip is okay any other time of year, but not during a playoff race. Yes it is officially a race now, Cleveland doesn't see to lose anymore and we just aren't the same team. If we go 16-15 the rest of the way- Cleveland needs to go 23-7 to win the central and by the looks of things now- its very well possible.

KW has under 5 hours to work some magic. If nothing gets done I will assume the market was still horrible because I believe KW is always searching and working hard on possible deals. Obviously we will all be disappointed if nothing happens, but that is just he way this year has been market wise. IMO it is almost essential to get someone thats better than mediocre to help out our offense be it Walker or anyone else.

Sometimes player and money wise you have to bite the bullet and overpay to win it all,all these years of " we will pick up who we need to win come June or July " to win, this is the time to make something happen!

FYI: supposedly "Insider" just said that Hendry is looking for a top OF prospect in return for Walker. I know we have loads of future OF talent, but a name like Chris Young isnt worth Walker IMO.

Basically Levine had said earlier that the White Sox had interest in him and IIRC the score mentioned it as well. Dont get your hopes up though because it did come out of Levine's mouth.

I hope Chris Young is worth a first round exit in the playoffs.

 

Not that Walker ensures we'll make it past the first round, but I can say with confidence that we definitely won't get past the first round as is.

Maybe that's the reason why Ramon/Nomar is playing 3rd base for the cubs.

Hasn't it been more like 31 days and 20 hours of disappointment? I thought people on here told us not to worry, KW would make some waiver trades to sure up our team?

I just want to know how KW can sit in his office and think "wow, the current make-up of this team has what it takes to make a run in the playoffs"? I know he's tried hard to get some superstars....but why not add a few solid MLB players (like Todd Walker, Ibanez, etc.) to try and boost the overall offense?
