Jeff Nelson = Done

Featured Replies

Comcast reported that Nelson is to have surgery and is out for the rest of the season.

This isn't surprising at all.

i.e. the rest of his career...

thats too bad.

Well so much for the thinking that Nelson was going to majorly help our pen about a month back when we had the likes of Logan up here.

Montero's outing tonight gave me a little bit of hope. He'll need to cut down on the extra base hits and HR's, but at least the guy throws strikes.

Gotta feel for Nelson though.

Will Nelson get a World Series ring when we win it?

If Kevin Walker got a ring last year ... I'm sure Nelson will get one. :D

Didn't forsee surgery, but knew from the moment reports surfaced of his velocity he was meat.

If only I had the search feature available. There were numerous people giving myself and others flack for doubting his ability.

Not surprising at all....and after hearing his comments today on Grimsley, I'm glad he won't be playing in our uniform anymore.

Hmm, I find myself agreeing with you on this one.

I just plain never liked his mustache. Go handlebar or go home.

Indeed, the cheese mustache just has never got it done for Jeff.

Great minds think alike, SnB.

What did he say about Grimsley?

What did he say about Grimsley?

Basically that what Grimsley did (ratting out his fellow ballplayers) was wrong simply because you're supposed to look out for the other players in the league. Which is just a stupid comment to make. Instead of taking the oppertunity to rip Grimsley for using and distributing HGH he goes ahead and rips him for ratting out other cheating pricks.

Nelson is done for his career, and rightly so.

And what a hellova career he had.

Somewhere Jabroni is crying.

So, what was your favorite moment of the Jeff Nelson era? His stay here is almost as memorable as the immortal Jose Paniagua's stint a few years back.

The one where he pitched well? :huh

seriously, change the title of the thread to done for his career

Ozzie thinks the same way as Nelson on this topic. Should he move along as well?

Yep, he sure is finished. I heard during the game that Nelson told Ed Farmer that he's going to hang 'em up if he's has to have surgery.

The 4 appearances were memorable and will lodged in my brain forever....
