They are discussing the possible postponement of both games tonight on ESPN.

It won't happen IMO.

I think the Yanks game could be postponed.

Why? That's just dumb.

It dishonors the deaths of anyone who they don't stop baseball for. You know like the thousands of Americans killed in Iraq.

Until 2007? :P

The Mets game could be postponed, because of the rain there.

Apparently Lidle's family might not be aware of his death yet.

So, according to NBC in New York, Lidle was not rated to fly a plane using instruments, and was only supposed to fly with good visibility.

and at the time of the crash, the ceiling was 1800 with a visibilty of 8 miles. Weather doesn't appear to be a factor.

if only arod had hit .300 against detroit, lidle woulda been prepping for a game, not flying...i blame arod...

Its ok... i laughed.

The other thing here is that this makes the Yankee rotation even shallower than it already was.

Lidle wasn't going to return to the Yankees anyways, but at this point that should be as far from your mind as seeing your mother naked.

If that is true, whomever comfirmed he was the pilot is a total asshole. Would that be Joe Torre?

IIRC, Joe Torre only confirmed what was thrown out there as a rumor at the time.

No, Torre said he owned the plane. It was the passport found on the ground at the crash scene that leaked he was in the plane.

Scumbag media.

:pray for his wife and family.

According to CNN it was Steinbrener that offical confirmed it was Lidle... so if any one is to blame it's him...

Man... Lidle had that great sinker working today... Where was that in game four of the series?

RIP. Prayers go out for him, his wife and son.

ETA: As well as or the others that lost their lives.

Not funny and stolen. Harry of Mac, Jurko, and Harry was popping that one off at around 4:30.

Anyone have a clue whyAlec Baldwin wanted to get to the scene of the crash?

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&...s_crash_newyork

It's the upper east side, who doesn't want to be there?

In all seriousness, he might have property very near there. One of the Mets coaches reportedly lives in the building, and Piazza resided across the street while he was with the Mets.

great picture, btw.....

I guess they don't have a DH in piloting
