May 29, 200718 yr Who are some of your favorite lesser know ex White Sox? Not players like Rowand or Thomas, but the backup/situational players. Two of my personal favorites are Liefy (Jeff Liefer) and the Milk Man (Herbert Perry).
May 29, 200718 yr Liu Rodriquez. I paid $.05 for his card at Soxfest about 5 years ago. I'm sure its worth much less now.
May 29, 200718 yr Author Another one of my favorites was Craig Wilson. I remember he hit a homer in his first career AB.
May 29, 200718 yr QUOTE(BearSox @ May 29, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) Another one of my favorites was Craig Wilson. I remember he hit a homer in his first career AB. He had/has a gigantic forehead.
May 29, 200718 yr Author QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 29, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) He had/has a gigantic forehead. I like how you threw in the option of him possibly getting some sort of surgery done to reduce his forehead size in the past few years... made me chuckle. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 29, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) Noberto Martin back in the day. More recently I liked Jeff Abbott and Greg Norton. Jeff Abbott was going to be a stud. But someone f-d with his swing, and then it went all down hill from there. Even though he wasn't the hitting coach back then, I blame Greg Walker.
May 30, 200718 yr QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 29, 2007 -> 04:43 PM) Noberto Martin back in the day. More recently I liked Jeff Abbott and Greg Norton. Paco was the motherf***ing man. I also liked Lyle Mouton, Greg Norton, Julio Franco.
May 30, 200718 yr QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 29, 2007 -> 06:43 PM) Noberto Martin back in the day. ^^^^^^^^^ Long live Paco. I loved Graff and Shingo. Tartabull was another. There was more of course.
May 30, 200718 yr Chris Snopek! The funniest White Sox player I have ever met, and always had time to sign something or interact with fans. Wonder what he is doing now? Edited May 30, 200718 yr by wilmot825
May 30, 200718 yr Woody Held tossed me a batting practice ball. Louis Alvarado used to put on a show in fielding practice before the game. Rick Reichardt acted like he remembered my dad when we ran into him on an elevator. Ken Berry was one of the greatest center fielders ever. Walt Williams had no neck! Buddy Bradford hit one on the roof. Edited May 30, 200718 yr by Carlo Paz
May 30, 200718 yr I'm definitely on the Wunsch bandwagon. I have a game worn white home jersey I got at Soxfest that I wear all the time. It was less than getting a new jersey and getting his name on it
May 30, 200718 yr The entire '99 bench. Chris Snopek Mark L. Johnson McKay Christianson Brian Simmons Jeff Abbott Josh Paul(He'll be forever in White Sox lore though, so I guess he really isn't less known) Yeah, the '99 team certainly takes the cake in being awesomely obscure.
May 30, 200718 yr Lyle Mouton just because one of my fav childhood memories is Gene Honda saying that name (to this day, it's the coolest sounding name Honda has ever said). I also liked Sean Lowe a lot, Charles Johnson's 44 games with in in 2000 were splendid, Lorenzo Barcelo is a legend, and Mario Valdez and Antonio Osuna were great.
May 30, 200718 yr I can't wait to start adding members of the 2007 squad. ... Oh wait, the title says favorite.
