Not certain where this thought goes, but did anyone honestly think the team would not have a three game losing streak? There will be a few more, and probably a few longer ones.

It's not that they lost 3, its the way that they've looked losing three.

Its been close games that havent gone our way. It sucks, but it happens.

Guess what...

April is over and we are in first place! Sure we have run into a bad last week or so, but I know if you told me we'd be 14-12 and in first place a month ago I would have been extremely happy. If you told me that Danks and Floyd would be off to this good a start I would be extremely happy. If you told me Quentin was going to look like an All Star I'd be extremely happy.

Hopefully the day off tomorrow brings our bats back... but in case you couldn't tell, I'm extremely happy with our WhiteSox after our first month - hopefully we can keep our seat on top of our division secured. I can't wait for Swisher, Cabrera, Thome, Konerko, and whoever wants to step up at 2B to start hitting... If they get it together we will have a great team on our hands.

Sox team ERA was 2nd in the AL coming into today.

it's a great sign, isn't it? Even when they've struggled to score of late they're still finding a way to bring the tying run to the plate. The hits will come. The hits will most definitely come.

Generally when you lose, you look bad. It's hard to look good and lose without accidentally ruining it all and winning.

You're right. All loses are identical. Losing a 1 run game to Johan Santana is the same as getting shut down by some no-name scrub while your best pitcher and bullpen get lit up for 10 runs.

Give me a break. Just as you can win in a dominant fashion, shutting down the opponent and having an efficient offense, and you can "win ugly," you can lose a close-but-well-played game leaving hope for the next time or you can get embarrassed.

To keep this positive, look at the difference between the way they lost the 1st and 2nd games of the season. After the first game, everyone was optimistic because this team battled back and made a game out of it after being down. After the second game, it looked like 2007 all over again.

I hope so. That's what people were saying at this time last year.

COMPLETELY.DIFFERENT.LINEUP.

If Floyd, Quentin, and Danks are anywhere near as good as they looked in April, our future isn't as dark as I thought it was coming into this season.

OC played very well tonight...keep playing like that, and he'll pass up Timo on my hated list.

At least we didn't sign Andruw Jones.

They also gave up a crapload of runs in the first game, whether or not they battled back. There's something bad in every loss, hence why you lose. Let's not get all "Hawkified" and go into a semantic debate about "good losses" or whatever.

I want to give a huge thank you to our starters. During this miserable stretch, they have been very good and worked extremely fast. It's made the games at least somewhat tolerable.

Swisher got 2 hits, AJ got 3, Thome went opposite field a couple times, Dotel and Logan continue looking good in the pen. I will not let this thread die.

Dotel and Logan are very important.

Nothing will matter if our offense stays this s***ty.

But if the offense becomes respectable we still need some set up success if we want to do anything.

Well when Mark Buehrle is the worst pitcher in your rotation, you know it's in good shape.

Toby Hall actually looked like a major league player today and a halfway decent one at that.

I think that today's lineup was a step in the right direction.

I would use this one, though.

Ramirez 2B

Cabrera SS

Quentin LF

Dye RF

Thome DH

Konerko 1B

Swisher CF

Pierzynski C

Crede 3B

Even if Ramirez gets on 1 of 4, he can make things happen on base.

Then let him hit 9th; you don't give one of your worst hitters the most at bats on the team.

I'm ecstatic about us having the "really good" version of Jose Contreras and not the "OMG let's hold hands and pray that we can dupe somebody into taking on this disgusting contract" version.

Brian Anderson is an ideal 4th outfielder. He still hits for no power, but he's maintaining a .270 average, is giving good at bats, and playing incredible defense. He should be in for the 8th and/or 9th of every game on defense when we have a lead.

The next time will be the first. Ozzie obviously disagrees with this philosophy considering he hasn't done it once this season.

I know it's never going to happen, and it's bad managing. We'll probably lose a game or two (or three) this year because of Ozzie's stubborness on this subject. If Anderson isn't out there on the Sexson ball tonight, as I look at the situation in the box score, this game might have gone completely different and been a loss because Swisher never catches that. Obviously that was in the 4th and isn't that relevant here in that sense, but there will be a ball or two (or three) like that in the 8th or 9th in close games later this year, and Anderson being out there instead of Swisher could be the difference between the game going to the left column or the right one.

Brian is at the stage he deserves at least 300 at bats.

C'mon Oz, get him some playing time.
