2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread

I still don't understand why the A's just gave up Gaudin. He would have looked lovely on our roster.

Especially now. I guess Beane really wanted that minor league catcher.

Cubs have done an absolutely wonderful job of checking their swing tonight.

f***

The last two days of baseball have absolutely, positively sucked!

Walking Fontenot was idiotic.

Terrible defense? Check! Terrible bullpen? Check! Extremely low baseball I.Q.? Check! Horses*** of a manager? Super check!

It's the Cubs' division to lose. They've got no legitimate competition.

Brilliant idea by Yost to let Hall and Cameron bat against Marmol.

Lilly over CC, I bet Haren outpitches Sheets and Cubs might as well win all 4 here.

Nice to see Yost use Durham against Marmol, who homered against him last month.

S***.

I thought Kapler might have had enough on that to sneak it over the fence. Len Kasper's announcing this season has been ungodly bad...it's like he's doing his best to echo the stereotypical bad Cubs fans.

Was it close to going out? My MLB.TV picture was kinda fuzzy. Saw enough of Soriano's hop where he almost mistimed it.

Durham should definitely be starting over Weeks.

I believe Soriano caught it right at the track.

Front of the warning track, but off the bat, it looked like he might have got it on the sweet spot.

Hand 'em the NLC. :chair

So when is Dempster going to turn into Braden Looper?

The Cubs are making a statement @ Milwaukee

The only thing- the Cubs play alot of away games in September and if Milwaukee can win tomorrow, they'd only be 3 up. However, if the Cubs win tomorrow, it's over, IMO.

After the series against Florida and the way Brewers were doing lately I was thinking Crew will destroy them, was I wrong..

Seriously? If the Cubs are 5 games up with 2 months to play, they can already ice the cake and spray the champagne, yet if they lose the Brewers still have a chance? With 2 months to play? I think you're delusional if you believe that.

At this point in time, I don't see a huge difference between 3 games and 5 games. There's definitely a difference, but it's not a difference between life and death. I mean, people still think the Tigers are in the race in the AL Central and they are 6 out right now and that could be 6.5 by the end of the night. Settle down.
