July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 26, 2008 -> 04:16 AM) After reading the game thread and having discussions on Sox fans booing Paulie, I wouldn't get too cocky in my evaluation of another team's fans. I think it's a shame the way Sox fans treated PK.
July 26, 200817 yr Interesting... The White Sox entered 0-38 when trailing after eight innings but rallied in the ninth after Carlos Guillen put Detroit ahead with a tiebreaking homer in the seventh.
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 09:16 PM) After reading the game thread and having discussions on Sox fans booing Paulie, I wouldn't get too cocky in my evaluation of another team's fans. Ha, game threads are always the same , unless the Sox are up 10-0 its always doom and gloom. Love the ones who hit and pitch well and hate those who ,God forbid, have a bad day. It's the end of the world as we know it but i feel fine.
July 26, 200817 yr Author QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:33 PM) I think it's a shame the way Sox fans treated PK. Beyond 2005, give me reasons why we shouldn't treat him that way. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:36 PM) Interesting... B to the motherf***ing A
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) Beyond 2005, give me reasons why we shouldn't treat him that way. His three other seasons where he's had MVP votes or been an All Star? The fact that he's the team captain?
July 26, 200817 yr Author QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:40 PM) His three other seasons where he's had MVP votes or been an All Star? The fact that he's the team captain? I should have used "since" instead of "beyond".
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) Beyond 2005, give me reasons why we shouldn't treat him that way. B to the motherf***ing A How about this? So Sox fans don't get compared to 'classy' Detroit fans.
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:38 PM) Beyond 2005, give me reasons why we shouldn't treat him that way. Beyond this season, give me reasons why you should boo Paul Konerko. There, back at you. B to the motherf***ing A I do not believe Brian Anderson is pictured
July 26, 200817 yr I want to tip my cap to Floyd. He had piss poor defense behind him and didn't have much command of his curve ball and still battled through 6 innings giving up just 4 runs (3 earned). And you could honestly say at least one other should have not scored. This team defense is a serious issue though, Sox can't just continue to give away outs and runs.

Last year, it seemed like he would have given up 8 under the same circumstances.
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) Sure hope so. That can happen sometimes. Did the fans really boo the Tigers off the field? That is huge. Was it after their final out or after JD homered and the half inning ended. Huge win. It sure would be nice to win Saturday and assure us of a series victory. It's just one game, White Sox. We got two more in Det and four in Minnie. One at a time. Let's win. Yes, it wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last time. They hate Todd Jones and deservedly so.
July 26, 200817 yr Got to do my jig in front of a bunch of Cubs fans. Pure. Too early to call it game of the year though with two more here against D-Town and then KC and THEN Twins. Ozzie said it right, if we can walk away from this road trip with a respectable mark and continue playing like we have after, then I will CURSE my f***ing job situation for forcing me to not renew my plan. Farmer and Stone were talking about how the Sox are second in the AL in committing errors. Lots of free outs.
July 26, 200817 yr QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) You had to figure they had a chance when Detroit only had 4 runs when it seemed they should have 10. Of course it didn't look good with 2 out and nobody on in the 9th. This team is winning games it should lose. You have to like their chances. They are certainly doing that in the last couple of games. I wouldn't say that was the case earlier in the season when we clearly lost games we should have won based on poor execution. I just think that stuff is just going to even out at this point. Still, as great as this win was, I'm getting concerned about the injuries piling up. Earlier in the week I was all for adding a starter, but now bullpen help may be more necessary. And with Fields needing to contribute who knows if that gets done at all.
July 26, 200817 yr To be fair I have never ever been too big of a Konerko fan, something about him never clicked with him. That being said Ill never boo a player on my team unless he shows up the fans or some crap like that.
