I dont even understand how some of you consider yourselves Sox fans.

Javy is the Sox 4th starter, due to having to play the last few weeks we could not set the rotation. Javy is not supposed to shut down the other team, he is supposed to keep the Sox in the game so that we have a chance to win. Anyone expecting more is just setting themselves up for failure.

If this was any other pitcher people would be talking about how easy grounders were getting through our infield, how we let pop ups drop, how the Sox couldnt get a double play. but since its Javy you all just want to kick him around.

f*** that, Im not going to sit here and say hes good, but I at least respect the effort that he has given to the Sox.

You realize how much he is being paid, correct? A 30+ million dollar pitcher should not be a crappy 4th starter, sorry. He is terrible, i hope to never see him pitch with a sox uniform on ever again.

nice try by wise

Anyone know the number of teams that came back to win the ALDS after losing the first game?

I've heard yesterday that NL teams won 24 of 27 series after winning the first game.

Nice try and nice scoop.

Lets year let's make sure we clinch early so we can go with our three best pitchers

Wise tries to a bunt for hit and fails. One down. Good effort though.

STOP THE BUNTS

There is no reason to give them outs.

I kind of figured we would lose this game with Javy pitching.... hopefully Buehrle shows Javy how to actually "man up" and if we take 1 in Tampa thats pretty damn good.

Badger has a point. Running out our worst starter in Game 1 is the price we have to pay for having dicked around the last few weeks. It still sucks though, as does Javy.

i agree. our team should NEVER concede outs. we just aren't good enough at executing to do that.

Stone and Farmer talking about guys that were left of the playoff roster who were given the opportunity to be with the team, but chose to go home. Can't watch the game right now, anybody know who their talking about? They sound like the Sox brass aren't happy about it. Sounds like one guy who has worn out his welcome is MacDougal.

AL teams that win the first game are 12-14 in the ALDS. It's utterly bizzare, but true.

I would deal Javy for a few HUGE risks right now, because atleast those risks wouldn't be on the mound every 5th day right away.

Hell.. at this point, Javy isn't even a risk, he's a loss.

Yep, 3 outs given up by the Sox on bunts or steals.

Two down. There goes my "big inning" prediction.

You mean those same few weeks when Javy was pathetic in 3 games? Good lord, no one gets more excuses made for them than Javy.

another quick inning

Anyone who chooses to go home instead of going to the playoffs is a loser and a coward.

Yeah ive watched Javy show up to every game and pitch, he never complains doesnt blame other people, he just shows up and tries to do his job.

Maybe hes not that good at it, but he takes responsibility for his own actions and does what he can.

/shrugs

Can you explain what you mean by this?

Well, I'll be damned. Go Rays!

Just think, if Wise didn't hit that flukey homer, we'd be scoreless right now.

pathetic hitting display

Just like the Twins series, there's no way Shield's should have gone 6 only giving up 3 with the stuff he had today

offense has looked like crap outside of one inning. typical

It just sucks that we couldn't even enjoy the lead we had for a little bit.
