We bloodied up Greinke a bit last time we saw him. How about a full blown massacre today?

He left a tie game after 7 innings, 8 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 0 walks, and 7 strikeouts. The bullpen went on to lose the game for the Royals.

 

He is 2-0 in 3 starts (1.23 ERA) against the White Sox this season, and 4 runs (3 earned) in 22 innings, while giving up 17 hits, striking out 24, and walking 3.

In today's Sun-Times, Cowley mentions that Greinke has plunked 29 batters over his career, with nine of them being White Sox. He's only hit five other players from AL Central teams. I guess he just doesn't have his good control when he faces the Sox.

We need a blueprint of that last time we went against Grienke. Work him over, foul off lots of pitches, and work deep into counts.

The post yesterday said Ozzie wasn't sure if he could play today or not. Usually when we hear something like that the player gets an extra day. I wouldn't be surprised if he was out tomorrow too, Ozzie does tend to be cautious.
