Fields playing worse in Minors than in the Majors

He's probably feeling sorry for himself, and you can't blame him, but he's going about getting a major league gig all wrong.

I agree. He struggled last year too when he was sent down.

Fields isn't long for the White Sox organization, but he won't be waived. He's probably feeling sorry for himself, and you can't blame him, but he's going about getting a major league gig all wrong.

Teams will wonder why a guy who has performed like he has the last 2 seasons thinks he should be handed a starting job on the major league level. He'll hang around as fodder for some team for a while, but probably won't have much of a career.

Hes done with us...below average fielder, below average hitter (cant cover the fastball). He just like Joe Borchard he played his way out of the organization with poor performance and a lack of improvement over the years.

Maybe if you were really Dick Allen instead of some dude.

Hah!

I remember when people were penciling him into our starting lineup with thirty homeruns.

Guilty. See my predictions in my signature.

LOL. I was very optimistic.

Last year he was injured most of the year.

I might very well be the only guy on the planet with a road grey #22 Josh Fields jersey.

If you face him anywhere but USCF, you have a chance.

Hitters hit better at home and pitchers seem to pitch better at home...maybe that is what home field advantage means but I don't know.

As much as most are down on Fields...at this point it really doesn't make any sense to just jettison him when our roster is going to be turned around the next year or two and infusing youth. Letting him stay down there a while and get his game back and go from there wouldn't hurt anything.

Josh is up to .302/.380/.556 so I guess this thread was every bit as premature as it seemed when it was started.

Glad to hear it. I hope he continues to rake so he has some trade value.

September call-up I bet.

It would be nice to have him on the big league club so Gordon can actually get a day off once in a while.

That might be a possibility when the rosters expand next month.

Nice to see Josh put up Gordon-like numbers in the minors.

Or when Getz is back (Nix getting a spot start at 3rd).

I wonder where Josh will try to resurrect his career next year.

The NL somewhere? Minor trade?

Wouldn't mind that either. Nix is hot right now and keeping his bat in the lineup would be a good thing.

For a time there I thought the Sox had two solid guys at 3rd. D'oh
