Ok...I've been searching Netflix streaming trying to find a show to take up my time. I watched the first two episodes of Dead Like Me. (i think it was on Showtime....dead girl becomes a Reaper). Anyways....after two shows....i'm kind of on the fence if it's worth continuing. Any opinions????

I suggest HBO's Rome and Starz's Spartacus.

I just recently started The Wire, as I never watched it back in the day when it was on HBO. Finished season 1 last night. It was definitely solid.

Starting season 2 tonight.

That's funny because I've been doing the same. I'm about half way through season 3 right now. The first handful of episodes in season 2 were excruciatingly boring, IMO. Other than that though it's been great.

Yeah, it took me a few to get into season 1, but once I got to about episode 4, it really picked up.

I have no idea what to expect for season 2...is it based in Baltimore again? If so, is it the same police characters?

Check the floor, cause I'm about to drop some names...

So Donald Glover (Troy from Community) tweeted last night that he was at a Bar in LA with Danny Pudi (Abed) and it was an open bar for an hour for any of their fans to come out. It was only about a 15 minute drive from our place so my girlfriend and I decided why not. So it took us 15 minutes to get there, then an additional 15 minutes to find parking (hip part of town)

We go in and Donald GLover is at the door, greeting us and thanking us for coming out to see them and get free drinks haha. Suddenly I hear someone scream "YES!" and point at my Sox jacket I happened to be wearing. It was Danny Pudi reacting to it since as I mentioned he's a HUGE Sox fan. Chatted with him about the Sox for a while and he's a real fan, super knowledgable, talking about the health of Peavy being a key to the season and his hatred of the Twins haha

Both guys were super nice, personable dudes. And I got a few free Newcastles so I can't complain...

As far as I know the entire run of the show takes place in Baltimore aside from a few excursions to NJ, NY and Philly (that's just the way David Simon does it, he's immensely familiar with the city). Same characters but there is, of course, fallout for a few people for what went down in season 1 but all the regulars are there.

:headbang

Forgot to add that Danny Pudi told me he's gonna be throwing out the first pitch June 5th. Sox vs. Tigers.

The whole series takes place in baltimore - it highlights (in season order) the police department, the docks, the schools, the mayors office and the newspaper, though the same core group of characters all fit into the story with some new people thrown in. My least favorite was probably season 2 with the docks, but the end of season 2 is fantastic. The show gets better and better, something that almost no other show can say.

Extremely jealous, extremely.

I know I'll be flamed for this but Community might be one of the least funny sitcoms I've ever watched. It's painfully awful.

I don't watch every episode but whenever I do, like right now, I find it difficult to not change the channel. Apparently all of the funny episodes only air when I don't watch. Reminds of one year, I forget which, when Ray Durham was hitting in the .280s or higher late in the season and whenever I watched he would have an 0-fer. I'd watch 4 games a week so he must have gone 5-5 that one night each week I didn't watch.

Awesome! I watched the video that you posted earlier about Pudi's fandom. You shoulda slipped a little hint about Soxtalk in there... ;)

Spartacus is like a kick ass action movie with a side of porn. I haven't seen season 1, but I was flipping around one Friday night about a month ago and got hooked. Tonight is the season finale.

I'm running out of Man Cards here lately but this is the first season of Idol I have ever followed, mostly because I wanted to see Steven Tyler on there.

I can't believe how into it I am. It really is amazing were they find some of this talent though. A guy working docks and stuff like that.

Welcome to 2002.

Wife finally allowed us to quit it this year. Without Simon, I have no interest.

We quit a few years back when it got to be the same show over and over every year.

When AI started it became a thing that my oldest and i did together though i never bothered watching the tryouts. i couldn't stand watching the people who couldn't sing a note. i'd get involved right around now but the last few years the talent level has gotten lower and lower IMO.

I wish I had watched at least one season with Simon now.

The earliest seasons were the best, before it all became a formula.

Jimmy K's new workout....

I would like to watch one of his classes. :lolhitting

Saw that earlier. Will Jessica Alba ever become unattractive? I see her like a Heather Locklear type. Sex as hell til she's 50. Jessica Beal is overrated IMO.

The Mike Tyson/George Bush movie trailer was better than the Jimmy K workout, as was the Tom Hanks toddler pageant video. Amazing stuff!

The Jimmy K workout wasn't that funny but he sure picked some nice ladies to put in it. The Hanks thing was hysterical, didn't see the Tyson/Bush trailer though.

HIMYM was terrible last night. One of my least favorit episodes of the series.
