I'll send a post of congrats to one of my favorite prospects (top 3) we had in our system in his first all star selection.. Gio Gonzalez. Just a great year he is having.

I'm with you on that one. I always had a feeling he'd turn out pretty good.

Can someone please give me an actual reason why Greg Walker is still our hitting coach? And spare me the "Hitting coaches have no impact" line. And if he's so important to Paulie we can keep him as Paulie's personal hitting coach, not unlike what Frank did with Walt Hriniak.

I am a Yankee's fan now.

What an odd odd feeling.

Rios benched tonight for Lillibridge!

Excellent news! :headbang

Maybe a trade is in the works. :P

"We need to get our captain to Arizona," Peavy said. "That's the bottom line."

Pretty funny listening to Boers and Bernstein rip on Peavy today relating to his request for more intensity.

I'm rather sick of the Peavy ripping. Bernstein doesn't like him because he's a Southerner.

The White Sox are 28-20 since Peavy made his first start of the year. That's a .583 winning percentage and is a 94-95 win pace over 162 games.

They are the radio equivalent of internet trolls.

Would have liked to hear that. The talk of Peavy's intensity winning ballgames is starting to rank up there with Rowand's grindiness on the annoying level.

Sort of true.

I will say I kind of like Peavy's intensity, though that article where he called for more passion was just cliche-drivel.

Funny thing about Rowand. Rip him all you want but we have not replaced him. Since '05 he's still the best option we've had.

When we made that trade -- Rowand for Thome -- I cringed like I do when ever Kenny does anything. Philly needed to dump Thome, because they had Ryan Howard and his minimum contract waiting in the wings. Thome had a big contract and clearly was not going to play ahead of Howard. The Philly GM needed someone to step up and do him a favor and take Thome off his hands. Kenny appears and gives up his CF in the process. What a nice guy, Kenny, to help Philly GM like that. Nothing against Thome, but we could have gotten him a lot cheaper/

Thome >>> Rowand

It's not even close. Outside of '07, Rowand has been mediocre to bad. The Young trade is the one you're thinking. KW definitely got greedy there.

All this KW hindsight s*** is getting ridiculous.

Needed a big lefty bat coming off 05. He got it. Had a solid CF prospect in the system to replace Rowand, didn't pan out. It's not like he knowingly left CF to what it ended up being. And none of this even brings up how terrible and overpaid Rowand has been since.

I'll be there tomorrow. Carlos Quentin almost ALWAYS hits a home-run when I attend a game. I would say like 85% of the time. So, basically, hit up Vegas.

The Phllies paid half of Thome's contract.

And Thome put up an 11 WAR in 4 seasons with the Sox.

2011 Sox:

Face 0-6 pitcher: Check.

Give 0-6 pitcher his first win of the season: Check.

Just another day in the office. :)

On June 1, the Twins were 20 games under .500, at 17-37. Now they are eight games under .500, after going 21-9; within 7 games of first.

How important is this 4 game series?

There is nothing about that trade that was bad. Nothing.

The Twins could pass us in the standings when this series is over.

My point exaclty, the next 5 games will say a lot about this White Sox team IMHO.
