June 8, 201114 yr That game was awesome, this is how we need to play at home! Two in a row against some dominant pitching, DON'T STOP NOW BOYS! I can't begin to describe how much more easier my nights go when the team gets an early lead and maintains it. It's like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I've been reading White Sox Outsider 2011 and was reading about June last year. That's the June we need. A sick run to the break. Let's do it. Cleveland's starting to fade! A little worried about playing Minnesota so much in the second half. We only caught them 2 games in their horrible start and lost both.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 10:05 PM) Two great wins. We're gettin' somewhere! I hope we're getting to .500 finally.
June 8, 201114 yr Did we just beat Pineda and Felix? I'm going to be very pissed off if we lose to Vargas tomorrow.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 10:48 PM) Did we just beat Pineda and Felix? I'm going to be very pissed off if we lose to Vargas tomorrow. I think Vargas has pitched well against us in the past. I would not be that surprised.
June 8, 201114 yr Who knew the bullpen wouldn't suck for 6 months and that this team would start hitting.
June 8, 201114 yr Humber has been so amazing. He deserves credit for saving his career. And I'd assume Coop helped him along the way? This guy has been rock solid all first half thus far. If he keeps this up, could he somehow make the all star team?? Morel. Sale. CQ has 15 home runs; Paulie 14. That's pretty damn good. Is Omar the oldest player in baseball history to slug a triple? I'd assume Julio Franco probably whacked several triples in his late 40s. We win w/out Dunn n Rios in the lineup. Interesting.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:25 AM) Is Humber real life? God damn. Seriously, I love the guy more and more after every start.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:22 AM) Just keep winning, just keep winning winning winning . I appreciate your matching avatar/post.
June 8, 201114 yr Apparently, sneaking a fastball by Paul Konerko is like trying to sneak a sunrise past a rooster.

June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 12:37 PM) Apparently, sneaking a fastball by Paul Konerko is like trying to sneak a sunrise past a rooster. Hahahahaha Last night was a turrible hawk night. Also hearing his draft philosophies.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 02:01 PM) Hahahahaha Last night was a turrible hawk night. Also hearing his draft philosophies. Good to know I wasn't the only person who threw up in their mouth hearing him praise pitchers drafted in the middle rounds because that means they had to fight to get there.
June 8, 201114 yr One thing that was obvious last night without Dunn and Rios was the quality of at bats by our hitters. Even Teahen hit a couple of deep fly balls.
June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) Good to know I wasn't the only person who threw up in their mouth hearing him praise pitchers drafted in the middle rounds because that means they had to fight to get there. He's still using that line? I remember hearing that same thing last year. I believe Stone basically did his polite "wtf?" argument but Hawk was having none of it.

June 8, 201114 yr QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 08:01 AM) Hahahahaha Last night was a turrible hawk night. Also hearing his draft philosophies. Hawk talked non-stop about Beckham charging for home when Pierre grounded to the first baseman. I agreed that it wasn't a heads-up play, but he wouldn't let it go. It could have been a double-play, however, if they had gone to second...maybe. Pierre isn't as fast as he used to be.

There's actually a real issue there...the Sox ALWAYS have the contact play on when a runner gets to 3rd with less than 2 outs. It's cost us many times under this regime.
