July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 05:32 AM) Which question do you want me to answer: "Are you a White Sox fan?" or "Do you think we'll win the division?" Can't do both, which is what this always tries to do. Great point.
July 26, 201114 yr Of course I'm in. But that doesn't mean I want to see Kenny trade away more prospects for veterans and not pull the trigger on a Quentin for young pitcher trade.
July 26, 201114 yr I'm in because, well, the f***? If they start winning do I go "Oh golly gee! I was out! I'll be in next year for sure and won't enjoy their success."
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:02 AM) Ask next week... btw...I thought the Chinese bombed Pearl Harbor?!? No, the Italians bombed Fort Sumter.
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 12:05 AM) No, the Italians bombed Fort Sumter. You dumbass Quinarvy...that was Fort Knox!
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 05:14 AM) Of course I'm in. But that doesn't mean I want to see Kenny trade away more prospects for veterans and not pull the trigger on a Quentin for young pitcher trade. If you mean a minor league pitcher, I think you are losing it. An unknown for Quentin? What young pitcher?
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:33 AM) If you mean a minor league pitcher, I think you are losing it. An unknown for Quentin? What young pitcher? I'm talking about someone like a Brandon Beachy.
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) I'm talking about someone like a Brandon Beachy. Beachy didn't look to hot in his start against the Reds. Well, I guess that he did feature 3 quality pitches and made some mistakes... he could get much better... I just personally don't know if I'd give up our second best hitter for him. If we're out of contention - sure... bring the beach on.
July 26, 201114 yr When this thread finally winds down does someone send the results to the Sox to provide them with extra motivation?
July 26, 201114 yr I was out after they s*** the bed vs the Twins AGAIN, but this s***ty ass division keeps reeling me in. It would be nice if they could actually get over the .500 mark and get within a game of the lead or something.
July 26, 201114 yr The Sox are 10-6 this year against the teams in 1st and 2nd in the AL Central. They are 4-12 versus the teams in 4th and 5th.
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:18 AM) When this thread finally winds down does someone send the results to the Sox to provide them with extra motivation? Only if you take it to them with free hugs!
July 26, 201114 yr i'm out on us winning the division, big IN for making some good trades and restocking with a so-called youth movement. if we happen to win doing that, awesome. if not, we're not screwing ourselves for the future.
July 26, 201114 yr It's still July, and the Central division is terrible like sin. I'll also settle for the Sox placing above Minnesota if they choose not to make they playoffs.
July 26, 201114 yr Out. This team could scrape and claw and win the division and then get bounced in the first round...no thanks. World Series Championship or bust...not a battle for the weak AL Central title

World Series Championship or bust...not a battle for the weak AL Central title This team has beaten up on teams better than .500.
July 26, 201114 yr QUOTE (heirdog @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:35 AM) Out. This team could scrape and claw and win the division and then get bounced in the first round...no thanks. World Series Championship or bust...not a battle for the weak AL Central title If we can get to the post season, our pitching can potentially shut down any team in the league. It's just the whole getting to the post-season part thats a bit of a problem.
