July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) If the Sox get a couple of the Braves pitching prospects, some of which are knocking on the door, it could clear the way for the Sox to move Danks now. That is if they feel the value they could get from the Yankees at the deadline will be greater than what they can get during the off-season. That'd be one way to replenish the farm system in the blink of an eye.
July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 02:54 PM) Minor is a lot like Buehrle from a stuff perspective. I don't know whether Minor will have the ridiculous ability to locate and keep guys off balance, like Buehrle has. Buehrle succeeds for a lot of reasons beyond "pitchability", and he is one of the most unique successful pitchers in modern baseball history. To hope that anyone with "Buehrlesque stuff" could become as good as the genuine article is long odds indeed.
July 28, 201114 yr BravesMan40 Jerome Wagoner BRAVES JUST MADE TRADE!!! Dont know who, either Quentin, Ludwick, or Willingham 100% I KNOW!!

July 28, 201114 yr Wow. I wonder if it is Quentin. I wouldn't think we'd deal this quick, but if the Sox got the right package, who knows. I could live with Minor and Beachy. Gives you two lefty arms who are solid and can be traded. Although I'd clearly prefer a package built around Teheran.
July 28, 201114 yr The Braves have a 19 yr old LHP Carlos Perez in low A, SAL. He was their #5 prospect. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...=carlos-perez-7
July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) Hold your weiners The guy in the cubicle next to mine just gave me a weird look for some reason.

July 28, 201114 yr Trading Q would be a pretty significant statement move. Personally I don't have a problem and like I've said all along, this team, even after quite a few trades, could still compete, given how drastically they have underachived and how crappy the rest of the division is. Hell, the Sox could sell a few of these guys and than go around and buy some young guy they like.
July 28, 201114 yr Now THIS guy seems like someone who is definitely just fishing for Twitter attention.
July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:09 PM) I guess Ludwick. I meant who is the tweeter?
July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) I meant who is the tweeter? Oh, I was just saying I think it's Ludwick they traded for. He was out of the line up today.
July 28, 201114 yr QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) It's probably Ludwick, if anyone. It's just a random kid's twitter. Eh, wake me up when someone who matters picks it up.
July 28, 201114 yr Only tweet I can find on Twitter is the Brewers sending a catching prospect to the Braves for cash considerations. Anyone else most up to date info?
July 28, 201114 yr Author Really it comes down to the Phills and Braves, the only other team that could really jump in and make a splash is the Rangers. The Rays could if they were in contention but they seem to be leaning toward selling. The Rangers have the prospects to get a deal done and could top whatever the NL teams are offering, but seem more focused on pitching. The Pirates dont want to five up any prospects, the starting price would either be Alvarez or Tabata +, and the Pirates dont want to eat away at their core they are building. The Red Sox cleaned out most of their upper level prospects in the deal for AGon. They would have to include a lot of prospects to make a deal work. The Phillies and Braves are doubly incentivized to get CQ because not only do they get to add the bat to their lineup, they block him from going to their divisional rival. If DoM Brown is in play that will make the Braves up the ante, sounds now like Teheran and Vizcaino are the only two untouchables. I expect there to be a lot of back and forth until one team cries uncle and stops bidding. Really great time to be KW.
