Can this organization develop the single A prospects that it acquires?

We seem to develop pitchers very well, it's the hitters we struggle with.

He's a AA guy at this point. I am guessing they accelerate this guy to a debut late this year or next.

Let's hope Nestor doesn't need a lot of development.

I hope Thornton is packing his bags as well. Get moving KW.

I guarantee you that Toronto asked for Beckham for this guy

Rock, have you heard of any FA that the Sox might go after?

Very glad that we finally bring in some scouts like Paddy and our new scout from the Minnesota Twins organzation..

I sure hope not. Let him develop. Lord knows rushing guys hasn't worked in the past. Especially if we are indeed rebuilding.

You mean like Santos?

Beckham straight up for him?

Nope. Not really tuned into that. These last few weeks have been really dark outside of a few meetings that I heard about taking place between the FO and other teams.

Unless you consider Dan Hudson and Chris Sale things that havent worked, I would say moving guys through the system quickly has been a decent philosophy of late.

Is Nestor the only piece? I would have thought you could squeeze another fringy piece in for Santos.

That was my first thought, but I like the trade anyway.

With the Guillens gone, there is no one left to leak info.

I would take that over Sergio IMO. I get the feeling Beckham's value is at an all time low.

Even if Kenny isn't lying about not trading the starters now, they certainly have some offensive players and relievers they could move.

Quentin and Thornton have to be the first out before anyone. Hopefully for some more pitching.

A starting 2B, even a mediocre one, is harder to replace than a closer.

Wow, that is an awful return.

I'm in shock that it wasn't one of those two who was first out of town.

Perhaps. No starting minor league time for Sale could hurt though. We'll see this year. I'd also argue that Beckham being rushed hurt as well. I hope Kenny sticks to what he said in that he won't rush him. Do him like the Rays do. If rebuilding, this team isn't doing anything next year anyway.

Sergio really wasn't that great last year.
