Choo has always been one of my favorite players in the league, but just this year I realized that he just cannot hit lefties at all. That and him being 31 already would concern me a bit about giving him a big contract.

Yep, the 13th inning in this game was just about the craziest I've ever seen.

There are 11 teams within five games of each other in the battle for the 3rd pick. Much more exciting than the 2nd wild card race.

I hate the Cubs more than anyone....and I hope they go on a 10 game win streak and the Sox lose 10 in a row. If we had a top 3 farm system and not a bottom 3 farm system, I might feel different.

This. I said the same thing about a week ago.

 

I know the Sox farm can use anything right now but I'd prefer they go with a hitter. Looking at the Cubs top prospects I'd venture to believe they'll go pitching this year, esp in a draft that right now seems to have a lot of pitching projected to go high.

The last first-rounder they had that really made a major impact for them at the big league level was Mark Prior. And he basically fell into their laps.

The Cubs have one starting pitcher who could crack the Sox rotation. Maybe 2 if you want to argue Jackson over Danks, but I'd still take Danks.

I love how people think the Cubs are in better position than the Sox. Sox have a much better pitching staff and pretty young. So the Cubs have been stock piling prospects but how many times have people heard this prospect or that prospect is the next big thing and they end up being a bust.

 

There was conversation on the radio Sunday morning talking about the great cub rebuild and the consensus was that they are still four to five years away from contending.

2015 is the year they're looking to start contending from all accounts.

 

They have 4 of the top 21 prospects in baseball according to Kiley McDaniel...ouch

So they're going to be contending in 2015 and at the end of 2013 only 1 of those prospects on the list has made AA? The 3 guys in A-ball this year are going to polish off AA and AAA next year and be ready to contribute to the big league roster?

 

I assume that means they're trading at least 3 of those guys then.
