To be honest, I don't care for taking 1st basemen. For all we know Michalczewski could end up at 1st.

You would think it would be an easy position to fill, but guys like Black and Wilkins are long shots to ever play in Chicago.

Part of the problem is that the Sox have had Konerko there for 15 years, obviously.

Keon Barnum's the only guy right now that anyone's halfway excited about, and part of it is being LH'd and knowing that's going to be a huge need at the big league level over the next 3-5 years.

But yeah, you can a 3B or SS or catcher or corner outfielder and you can always move him to 1B if he can't stick at one of those were demanding positions (well, many would argue 1B is more demanding than LF).

"@FollowtheFrogs: #TCU's Andrew Mitchell leaning towards signing with White Sox. READ: http://bit.ly/17vfjGA "

Mitchell said he’ll decide soon whether to sign with the White Sox or return to TCU for his senior year.

“Growing up playing football or baseball, whichever sport, I always dreamed of playing in the NFL or the MLB and once I figured out it was baseball in high school I always dreamed of hearing my name called in the MLB draft,” Mitchell said from his home in Houston. “I haven’t made a decision yet. I’m just trying to soak in the moment of hearing my name called and just being with my family.”

The assigned pick value for the 123rd pick is $413,000, so Mitchell is looking at a hefty pay day if he signs. It’ll be a surprise if Mitchell returns to TCU.

“I’m probably honestly leaning towards starting my career,” he said. “Whenever you get an opportunity it’s hard to pass up with injuries and stuff you can’t really control.”

Looks like he may def sign.

In three starts this season, Goldberg has gone 2-0, leading the Big Ten in strikeouts (22) and opposing batting average (.119), while coming in second with a 0.47 earned-run average. His performance thus far this season has already earned him two conference Pitcher of the Week awards.

As if his imposing 6-foot-4-inch, 225-pound figure was not enough to intimidate opposing hitters, Goldberg throws a repertoire of pitches that includes a sinker, curveball, slider and a fastball that reaches more than 90 miles per hour.

When taking the mound, Goldberg has one goal in mind — dominance.

“I’m trying to dictate,” Goldberg said. “I’m trying to throw my pitches and use that sinker to my advantage. I’m not trying to let them take the pace of the game, I’m trying to make sure I’m comfortable with my tempo and I’m throwing the pitches I want in my counts.”

Who are the two question marks? Michalczewski and whom? The TCU RH?

Yea he was.

Not so sure anymore.

1 question mark as of now, but I'm not gonna lie, Michalczewski following FutureSox that quickly on Twitter can ONLY be a GOOD thing.

So maybe NO question marks up to this point. Add one with ROWDY :D !!!

It seems as if the arms we have been targeting tend to be very fresh.

I wonder if that's something they look for? Guys with lesser experience so they have a better chance of shaping their pitching minds and tendencies. Also less injury proine I would assume.

That's exactly what I noticed. Guys who have fresh arms haven't been pitching long meaning they are babies in term of pitching yet already do it well. So upside might be way higher.

Assuming they sign, which players just drafted will crack the White Sox top 25/30 prospects within a year? I'm saying Anderson, Danish, May, Mitchell, Lowry, and Michalczewski (if signed) will all be prospects by this time next year. Last year's draft produced prospects in Hawkins, Barnum, Beck, DiMichele, Hansen, Brennan, Basto, Barraza, Johnson, Ayala, and Coats, including a few good late performers in Kiser and Grabe, as well as two interesting pitching prospects in Guerrero and Throne.
