Not paying Peavy's contract may pay immediate dividends when we make deals in the next 12 hours

I'm curious to see this 240 lbs running around like a gazelle. Plus defense? Can that be mostly from arm strength?

He has 20 base steal potential, so he definitely has some range out there.

It should be very, very interesting watching Peavy pitch in the postseason.

Don't forget that Dayan Viciedo may still figure things out. Imagine that LF/RF combo if they get anywhere near their potential

Viciedo's on his usual progression. Starting to figure out RH pitchers and showing more patience after repeating a level. Still love the kids potential.

This is a really good outcome for us. Maybe not the names some wanted but a very good return for an expensive player who won't help us materially in the future.

Prospects are icing on the cake

240 in cf? Cooooooooommmmmmmmmmonnnnnnnnnn

His recent play against righties has been EXTREMELY encouraging

Shhhh, he's a warrior.

Some highlights showing off Avisails tools:

Garcia at Comerica this weekend would be fun.

IF TRUE, the Sox being cheap with regards to prospects kills them here.

Again and again and again and again....

This franchise has no chance of being run properly until Reinsdorf dies.

Funny thing is I think I already was tired of Hawk going on an on about Avisail

Earlier this year

I know it's shocking, but I won't freak out tomorrow if Rios isn't dealt. They can just keep Avisail in the minors the rest of the year and then try to trade Rios in the offseason or move Garcia to LF after the year and Viciedo to 1B.

Detroit must figure that putting Peavy in Detroit gives the at least one win in a series.

Stop making sense!

I would be very surprised if we don't have a plan to get Garcia in the lineup muy pronto. He doesn't have much to prove in AAA imo. This has to motivate us to move Rios

Asked D-Backs GM Kevin Towers if he came close on Jake Peavy, "Guess not."

Screw you Towers

We have no idea how Garcia is going to turn out. As of today, considering his AAA performance and the fact the Tigers wanted him to be the starter, it's a good return for Peavy. Let's hope the Sox luck changes under Hahn and this guy is a star for the next 12 years. On paper I'd give the Sox a B for this trade or A-. If all that Peavy money is off the books, I'd think Hahn would already be in Jerry's great graces.

lol, Garcia should wear 34 so that people will already own his jersey

Thought the same myself.

Double plus good.

Cleuluis Rondon: Really smooth defensive shortstop. As for his bat, well . . . he's a really good defensive shortstop.

If we can continue landing players of Garcia's caliber with our other guys we're going to be looking good for the future

I get the high ceiling s*** and all, but sooner or later we have to go back to getting the guys that are good at baseball.

Can this tub of goo actually play center? Moving De Aza to left would be huge.
